Lexi's POV
"Thought you said you never miss Hawk!" I screamed over to the other side of the rooftop, past Cap (who was also on the mission to stop me and Clint killing each other) as I watched Clint's arrow miss.
"I don't." He called back as he pressed a button on his bow and I saw something from my left explode.
"Dickhead!" I shouted as I shot down another gang member.
"Language! Can you two just work together!" Cap shouted as he blocked a shot with his shield.
"Just shut up yourself and be quiet!" I shouted out of rage as I saw Clint trying to hold back his laughter on the other side of the roof.
We soon defeated the gang and we climbed down by a ladder to head inside, to retrieve the files Fury said we needed for god knows what.
"Will you two ever get along?" Cap sighed as he sat beside me and Clint started up the jet to fly back to headquarters, turning it on autopilot.
"Nobody knows about our past and if you knew, you'd understand why we despise each other." I explained.
"Seriously, we have a fucked up past, same as our parents. That's the most your getting out of me, I don't really like recalling it." Clint said. Our history being complicated was the only thing we ever actually agreed on.
"Language! I just give up with everybody's bad language now!" Cap sighed.
"You should stop bothering." I said to Cap as he chuckled. "Hey dickhead how long till we're there?" I shouted to Clint.
"Shut up." He responded shortly, not even glancing around as he leant back and relaxed in his chair.
"And maybe you two should stop arguing and shouting at each-other for once." Cap muttered under his breath loud enough for me to hear.
"That's never happening Rodgers so stop dreaming." I answered before the jet fell to a sudden silence.
"Have you two ever actually gotten along?" Cap asked as me and Clint stayed silent, trying not to recall any memories.
"Hey is my phone at the front?" I asked Clint.
"Yeah." He responded.
"Give it here then." I ordered annoyed at his stubbornness.
"I think I'm good." I could practically hear the smirk he wore through his words.
"Bastard." I muttered loud enough for him to hear as I went up and grabbed my phone.
"I'll take that as a compliment, so cheers." He replied as I gritted my teeth and gripped a handle on my left to prevent myself from launching at him and slumped back down opposite to Cap. I reached inside my pocket, took out my air pods, and put them in. I leant back, hummed along to the music playing through my ears and relaxed.
I soon felt a tap on my shoulder as I looked up to be met by a pair of warm blue eyes. I took out my air pods and put them back in their case and slipped them into my pocket, also secretly turning up my hearing aids a bit more. I went a little deaf at a young age so I needed hearing aids but absolutely nobody knew I had or needed them, only my older sister who I hadn't spoke to in 15 years.
"Yeah cap?" I asked him as he sat down beside me.
"Sorry I heard you humming a familiar song, I don't recognise it exactly but I feel like I know it... do you mind letting me hear it?" He asked nervously but politely.
"Sure, just put these in." I said as I slipped my air pod case out of my pocket, opened them up and handed him one of them , he looked at it in confusion as I took it back off him and put it inside his ear. I forgot for a second that he was from the world war two. I went on my phone and played (Favourite/Song). It was one of my favourites and he seemed to like it too as he nodded along to it.
