"Where is he..."
I kept glancing back and forth to my phone checking the time
It's 12:13 am
I sat on the chair on our porch while waiting for the love of my life
I put my hands inside my sweat's pockets and thought, What a chilly Wednesday midnight.
Cold sweats rushed throughout my body when my phone vibrated
It was a text from him,
"I'm here."
I stood up from the chair and started walking away from our house. I couldn't help to look back as I walk, just making sure my parents are sleeping
I noticed a guy in a blue jacket walking his way towards me and once we're right in front of each other, I pulled him for a hug. It's been a long time. I missed him.
"I miss you. Thanks for coming." I said as I bury my face into his chest
"Anything for my babygirl." He said calmly
That made me chuckle,
"So did you have fun driving to my place?" I asked
"Yeah. I was really excited to see you." He replied
I intertwined my hands into his and started walking to his car and when we got there, we went into the back seat.
"Ahh... It's almost 2021..." I said as I lay down beside him, "I can't believe we made this far."
He smiled and reached for my hand "Of course I'll be here with you forever."
Then suddenly I heard an alarm clock ringing in the distance.
"Can you hear that?" I asked looking around
"What do you mean? I don't hear anything."
Oh no... Could this be just a dream?
I quickly sat up and he looked at me worriedly, "Is everything alright?"
I forced a smile and nod, "Hey... I want you to know and to always remember that I love you. No matter what happens."
"Babe I know that already. There's no way I'm leaving you." He said
"Promise me... That you'll be happy when I'm gone." I smiled and hugged him
"Please don't cry... Everything's alright. I'm here. I won't leave you." He said in a sad voice
"Just promise me..."
"I promise.
Hearing those words made me cry even more. I wish he stayed... I wish he really did...
I noticed he was tearing up
"...It's okay, you will understand." I hugged him tighter
I knew it was time for me to go. I let go and planted a kiss on his lips
Then suddenly, I woke up with tears running down my face.
Everything felt real. I miss him so much.
I missed the old us.
