Surrounded by the cheery atmosphere of her variety of friends.The event ignites a small spark of joy in her heart,but does she deserve it?

The tavern was much more lively than usual in Diluc's favour.A hefty paycheck was waiting for him tomorrow,as much as he hated the harbinger for sponsoring the party,mora was mora.

Today was Lumine's 'birthday',it has been a year since her arrival in Tevyat.Time passed by fairly quick for the girl,but the clues to finding her brother were close to none

The cheerful laughter of her friends filled her ears,the wide smiles on their faces made the corners of her lips curve upwards.It was nice to see everyone in such joy despite some being enemies.

"Happy birthday to our honorary knight!"said Venti as he crashed into Lumine's arms.This earned a small grunt from the petite girl and a few chuckles from her friends.

The night was getting late.The cake that was baked with the help of the Knight of Favonius was already devoured into nothing,leaving a few specks of crumbs on the empty plate.The wine that filled the cups of many disappeared like a magic trick.Many of her comrades had knocked out into a deep sleep,some leaving the establishment to retire from the night in their homes.

Lumine was now alone again.It's just her and the mug of apple juice she was staring at.The reflection seemed oddly grotesque to her,it made her sick in the stomach just by looking at herself.

Her golden eyes darted around the tavern,all her friends cozily sleeping without a care in the world.Did she really deserve this comfort and happiness?Lumine has always asked herself this question when she was alone with her thoughts.

She slayed so many innocent hillichurls.They used to be human too.She was tasked with killing various people,they had a family aswell.But her killing spree did not end in Tevyat.In her past adventures,she had slain various gods,fierce dragons,kings and queens of corrupted kingdoms.Making her blindly help citizens to repent for her sins.Although everyone forgave her,will she be able to forgive herself?All this time she had Aether forgiving her and staying by her side despite all the sins she committed.But now without him,who will forgive her.

Lumine might learn to forgive herself someday,but it won't be soon.It may take a few centuries,or a few months,but it won't be now.Maybe the world will forgive her when she becomes one with the sky,but that can happen after she finds her brother.
