-- 10k's POV --

"Sara..." I said, gripping onto her arm and pulling her behind me.I could feel her stiffen on my grip, but softened as she looked at me.She held one of the grenades in my hands.
She leaned closely, making me catch my breath, "Run," she whispered.

And we did, with her in the lead, now holding the hand that was free of the deadly device. With so many Zs behind us,she slipped very quickly through the back window, leaving me to only spike a few Zs before I pulled myself through as well.
The world was so dark now, with clouds covering the moon,it was hard to see anything at all.But I followed her,I knew I shouldn't trust her this much, but I didn't have a choice...and it felt right.

Something changed then, she hadn't said anything, but the way she moved sent chills up my spine.I felt her grip tighten before letting go, and before I knew it,she was making a running start towards the roof.
"You'll know what to do!" She yelled as she landed on the first platform, then onto the ground below.

I ran my hands through my hair in frustration. It was a very bold and reckless move to make. But I had to believe she wasn't just stupid, but that she knew what she was doing.
The latter didn't seem as believable right now.
I moved slowly towards the edge, watching her run and stop halfway across the road. She had two rocks in her hands, the grenande hung on her belt, ready to be used.
"Hey!" She yelled towards the Zs, clanking the rocks together as loud she could.
I didn't like it, but I started to bang againest the roof's siding to lower them out of the back.

So many came out that I stepped back in shock. They didn't notice me at all,but instead pelted for Sara. She didn't run,she kept yelling and making noise.
Thats when she dropped the stones and took out the grenade, releaseing the trigger, and then throwing it into the hoarde.
I couldn't catch the glimpse of her taking cover as the Zs blocked my view. All I could do was crouch with my ears covered, and hope she was alive.

The grenade went off in an explosion of reds, yellows, and Zs.The sound... the ringing went staight through my brain and I struggled to stand to my feet again. But I managed it,despite the intense pain.
All around me were bits and pieces of Zs,but I wasn't looking for that, because some of them still lingered, were trying to find meat.

Thats when I decided it was my turn.I quickly pulled the trigger on the grenade and threw it a bit closer to the building, where the remaining Zs limped towards Sara.
I stepped back farther and pulled myself to the ground, putting a significent amount of pressure on my ears to block out the blow.
I felt the pressure more than heard it,and I held the position for many seconds after the explosion.
Sara.

I pulled myself up and managed to safely make my way down to the ground again. All I could see ahead of me was her body, layed out on the pavement far to the other side of the road. There was no blood,so that was good, but she wasn't moving.
When I reached her I felt for a pulse, she had one,and she was breathing normally. Her face was smuged with blood and a few scratches.
"Sara?" I asked, pulling her head protectively into my lap, "Don't leave me,"
The only reasurrence I got back was a tigh squeen on my upper arm,but after that, nothing.
I didn't know what to do,so I waited to see if her breath stopped coming, but it never.

I slipped my hands underneath her legs, propping her arm over my shoulder so her head hung low on my chest. She felt so...dead.All that matterd now was making sure she wasn't,and never would be.

-- Sara's POV --

My eyes hurt as I strained them to open against the sun.I struggled to keep the memory of what happened, and was surprised that I was safe.
Where was I?
Something was pushing againest my thigh, and as I supported myself on my elbows,I saw 10k.He was sleeping in a sitting position, his legs were tangled with mine.
Had he stayed watch all night? How long was I out?
