Everyone is born with a shadow, and their shadow slowly kills them, in a way it drains their life. Without shadows we would basically be immortal, think of it as population control. Every now and then their is a child that is born with a very rare shadow, the darkness. The darkness drains your life the same way a normal shadow would, the only diffrence is your life is cut short about 50 years. With a normal shadow you could live up to be 80, with the darkness it vary's but the longest anyones ever survived it was up to 35 years. (I know it's short but this is just what I have off the top of my head, seeing as I don't have my notebook with me but theirs going to be 4 characters. I'm going to let you guys decide their names and I'll fill in the blanks but theirs triplets and one other person 2 girls 2 boys thanks guys)
