The boy next door:

Is that your cooking I smell?

You:

Yes, I'm cooking Italian.

The boy next door:

It smells delicious

You:

You can have some if you want.

The boy next door:

I will take you up on that offer

And he did. Two minutes later, not that she was checking the time, he was knocking on her door. "Hi, come in", she greeted him. "It's not done yet but it'll be ready in a few minutes." He nodded and closed the door behind him. While she went back to cooking, he began opening cupboards. He took out two plates and two glasses and placed them on the table.

"Cutlery?", he asked. She opened a drawer next to the stove and took out two forks and spoons and handed them to him. "Oh, and knifes", he added. "You need a knife for pasta?", she said surprised. He laughed, "Don't judge me." She shook her head but handed him one.

During dinner, they discussed when the movie nights would be and settled on Mondays and Thursdays. His friends wouldn't be there. He had said it was because they wouldn't be able to keep their mouth shut so they'd spoil the rest of the movies for her. Movie nights could only start at 10:30 p.m. because of all her school work. She had class till 6 p.m. and then had to make dinner and study. He, on the other hand, seemed to have all the time in the world. His classes started at 10 a.m. and ended at 4. Lucky guy.

When they were done eating, she expected him to leave. He had gotten what he came for, so why stay longer? But one glance at the stack of dishes and he refused to go.

"I'll do the dishes later, I still have some work to do", she said, trying her best to convince him. She was indeed planning on doing them later, just not that night.

He shook his head. "No way. We'll do them together. It's a win-win situation. I won't feel so guilty and you can go back to studying faster." She couldn't deny it would benefit them both. He had made a strong case. And he was offering after all. "Fine," she sighed, "I'll wash, you dry." His eyes sparkled, clearly happy he won this round.
