Mismatched

Chapter 1

There prevails a complete silence. A girl is seen tapping her nails on the wooden table in nervousness and a boy is seen tapping his foot in tension.

"Are you both sure? " Both of them looked up towards the lady judge who just adjusted her glass looking both of them.

She shifted her gaze to look at him and found him already looking at her.

"Yes! " They said in unison and let a deep sigh.

"From this moment you both are no longer husband and wife according to law... Mr. Neil Khanna and Ms. Avni Mehta " Said the judge while they nodded looking at her

They again looked at each other and drowned into memories.

Neil and Avni had a arranged wedding. Avni was not at all ready for wedding but she said yes because of Neela ma. She wanted to be independent. She was not ready to accept any relationship. Neil never wanted to marry someone without knowing each other. But he did because of his family. It was unwillingly for both of them.

On their wedding night, they both together confessed that they are not ready for this wedding. They made a deal of living together for 2 months and then parting their ways as like they wanted.

"All the best Avni... " He said stretching his hand for a handshake

"All the best Neil... " She said shaking hands with him.

They returned smile to each other hoping they would never meet and left.

After 6 months

A girl is seen combing her hair while her mother was giving her lectures.

"Haa mom... I got it!.. I will!" She said replying her as she has no room mate till now and the landlord informed her that a new person gonna share the home with her so Neela ma asking her to inform every details of the person.

Neela ma lives in Mumbai while Avni stays in Delhi.

"Okay okay... I am getting late Maa.. I love you... Byee... " She said and put off the call.

She picked the keys and locked the door. She got into her cab and left to work.

She reached her office and greeted her colleagues . She sat on her seat and switched on her Computer.

"Hey Ms. Graphic designer... " She heard the sound and turned to find her friends Ali and Juhi.

"Hii!! " She replied smiling at them.

"You know what! " Ali opened his mouth to say something but stopped when juhi stopped him.

"Don't say to her.. " Juhi said while Avni furrowed her brows.

"She didn't picked my call yesterday... So I gonna zip my mouth... " Juhi said rolling her eyes while Avni made a puppy face.

"Areey yaar... I am sorry juhii... As usual my mobile was in silent... I checked morning only.... " She said pacifying her friend while she nodded her head in disbelief but finally melted.

"Our new Group head is finally arriving today!! " Juhi said while Avni smiled widely.

"Really?... That's means Mr. Siddhart left?" She asked in kind of happiness as he was bit rude and all-time-work kinda person. So everyone were happy on his leaving the company.

"And you know what... Finally.... Finally I got a room mate... Now I can sleep peacefully without having any ghost dreams.... " Avni said chuckling while they laughed.

"At the Meeting place " Informed on of their colleagues so they left.

Her team members gathered on the meeting room. While her senior colleague informed about the new team head to everyone. He arrived at that place while everyone stood to welcome him while Avni's eyes jumped out of socket seeing him.

"So I am gladly welcome Mr. Neil Khanna to our company as our Head " He said and everyone clapped their hands.

"Thank you guys! " He said seeing everyone while his eyes caught on Avni and he was shocked seeing her.

They looked at each other for a minute and looked away in unison. Everyone introduced themselves and so Avni. They felt really awkward seeing each other.

The meeting ended and everyone dispersed. She sat on her seat.

"Why??.. I mean Why??!!! " She asked looking up as like asking to God and sighed. She nodded her head and started doing her work.

Whereas Neil never thought that they would again meet. Seeing her here was indeed a shock to him. He sighed and continued his work.
