It was report card day, and god how I hated this day! I managed to make it through the whole day of school without any outbursts, and I wasn't about to give up the record now. Making my way to my locker, I stuffed it with every book that could fit and took out my valuables, humming a happy tune because it was finally that time of year where I got a break from school. I slammed it shut and began to walk the hallways, thinking of my master plan to run away from the drama my grades bring. Michelle walked up behind me, her heels clicking as they hit the tiles.

"Hey Ria," she said with a smile I would love to have right now. I knew she was joyous because she was the top of the class, and had high expectations and even higher quality boyfriends. It was report card day, why wouldn't she be gleaming?

I continued walking, trying to stay calm knowing she would just ruin my day. She was a nice girl, but her clueless ways were annoying.

"Uh hi," I said nonchalantly as I sped up a bit, making it obvious I wasn't in the mood for talking, but of course she sped up behind me.

"It's report card day y'know, aren't your parents supposed to come pick it up? You can't just leave and walk home without it.." she said pulling out a white envelope. "Look, I got mine already, wanna see!!?"

I wanted to peel her lips off of her beautiful face so she could stop smiling so innocently and talking with that stupid, high pitched tone.

"No thanks, I think i'll be fine." I quickly turned into the classroom and whilst the teacher was dealing with another parent, grabbed a white envelope that had "Arianna Lovette" written on it. I snuck out of the class, further avoiding Michelle, and jogged out of the building. Matthias was already outside waiting for me, he was a friend of mine that I knew growing up. He always offered me a ride home and I liked him, in a good friend way, but I knew he felt more towards me.

"Hey, you made it, where's your parents?" He said stuffing his hand in his pocket and pulling out a cigarette. I slapped it out of his hand.

"They aren't here, Sherlock, and I told you those will ruin you!" I said stomping it further into the ground with my foot and then getting into his car.

"Alright I hear ya," he chuckled, "but there's like 8 more left in the pack, so you killing that one won't stop me y'know?" He got into the driver's seat and watched with bright blue eyes as I stared at the envelope in my hand with lost hazel ones. "Gonna open that?" He said, brushing a strand of his shoulder-length blonde hair out of his face before pulling out of the parking lot and into the road.

"Nah, i'm just gonna wait til I get home, honestly I want nothing to do with this, but the sooner it's over the better." I sighed and threw my head back, closing my eyes.

"Just don't let it get to ya'" He replied and then the conversation stopped from there. The rest of the drive home was silent and relaxing. He pulled up to a gated community, entered the code I gave to him, and then pulled into my driveway. "You'll be fine!" He said, nudging me in the shoulder as I got out of the car looking defeated.

I entered my house, wishing it was empty although I saw the car parked outside. "I'm home" I yelled.

"It's report card day, let's see it!" My dad shouted from the kitchen. I cursed to myself, obliged to enter the kitchen where my parents both stood, waiting.

"Here, before you open it, i'm gonna take a shower!" I began to run away but was quickly stopped by my mom.

"Oh no you don't, get back here miss, you won't go lock yourself in your room this time." She said sternly, I turned around and sat on the stool by the island, letting out a sigh. They opened the package, showing no emotion on their faces as they read the paper together. I stared at them anxiously until they were done.

"What did you do this year? Waste it!!? We send you to school for a reason, not to just socialize and bring home whatever grades you feel are okay!!" My mother shouted, and I knew it was over, my record was about to go down the drain.

"Alright, first of all I didn't waste the year I actually tried a little." I stood up, "Second, I hardly even socialize, so how could you even use that against me? You never appreciate my grades just because we live in this stupid, phony ass neighborhood doesn't mean I have to be perfect like the rest of 'em!" I stormed upstairs, but of course she wasn't done. She followed me up.

"Maybe you should socialize more then you'll get a grip on life because you obviously hang out with the wrong crowd, our neighbors are smart, and ambitious unlike some ungrateful girl that I know" she was obviously talking to me but I just continued walking. "Listen to me when I am talking to you!" She said grabbing my arm.

"Ungrateful? Why should I be grateful to someone who argues with me everyday, you didn't even pay for this house or anything we have it was all dad's money, so who are you to talk?!! What are you saying i'm stupid and have no plans for myself? Y'know what i'm done with this get you hands off me!" I shouted whilst yanking my arm away, I saw her try to grab me again, and gave her a push so she wouldn't try. She stumbled back, her foot sliding off the edge of the staircase. She fell backward slamming down the stairway and finally landing at the bottom.

I stood in shock as my father ran to her side to help her, she looked hurt but she didn't hit her head or anything. I ran to my room and locked myself in it, I can't believe what just happene! Now, I am going to be seen as a mentally unstable bad daughter! I walked around, hand running through my hair as I blew up and began throwing everything my hand could grab at the wall. So much for my record.....
