((ARTHUR'S POV))
We rush down to where Gaius and Merlin's Living chambers are as I set Mira down as Gaius says where:
"Lay her on the bed quickly; she's struggling to breathe. Gwen and Merlin, fetch me some water and a towel now." I couldn't stop looking at her, I was scared I would never get to talk to her again if she dies, those feelings would always grow when she was near me. I want to tell her so badly as if my life depended on it. I wanted to cry because of the way she's starting to look because of how the poison is affecting her now.
"Is she going to be alright?" I had to ask Gaius at this time, trying so hard from showing my true feelings about her to the people around me.
"She's burning up." Gaius says placing a hand on her forehead, she slowly breathes but I could tell that this was slowly killing her in time.
"You can cure her, can't you Gaius?" Gwen asks him, I couldn't stop thinking how stupid this was of Mira to actually do this, but she saved both of Merlin's and I's lives as well.
"I won't know until I can identify the poison. Pass me the goblet." He talks to Gwen as I pace the room.
"Ah. There's something stuck on the inside." Making me go rigid and rush over to his side asking:
"What is it?" I ask him at this time, slightly mad at myself because I didn't stop her from drinking what was in the goblet.
"It looks like a flower petal of some kind." Gaius says looking at it in the light.
"Her brow's on fire." Gwen says to the two of us now.
"Keep her cool; it'll help control her fever, also try to get that dress off of her, Merlin grab one of your shirts for you guys to put on her so she doesn't have to overheat in that dress." Gaius says Merlin goes up the small stairs and goes into his room to get a shirt so Gwen can put that on her. Gwen tends to Mira while Gaius pulls out a book from off one of his many shelves. Merlin comes back with a dark blue one he has as Gaius takes it from him, giving it to Gwen and Pushing Merlin and me from the room and out of their door. Gaius stands outside with us for a bit. After a few minutes, Gwen yells that she's done with changing her as the three of us come back into the chambers.
"Ah. The petal comes from the Mortaeus flower. It says here that someone poisoned by the Mortaeus can only be saved by a potion made from the leaf of the very same flower. It can only be found in the caves deep beneath the Forest of Balor. The flower grows on the roots of the Mortaeus tree." Gaius exclaims slightly as I stand by where he's sitting same with Merlin.
"That's not particularly friendly." I say pointing to a picture that's on the page he's reading.
"A Cockatrice. It guards the forest. Its venom is potent. A single drop would mean certain death. Few who have crossed the Mountains of Isgaard in search of the Mortaeus flower have made it back alive." Gaius says to me and Merlin.
"Sounds like fun." I tell him, I knew it would be a hard quest but I need to do this because I can't picture ever losing her at all.
"Arthur, it's too dangerous!" Gaius says to me, I know he means well but in my heart, I have to do this for her no matter what happens.
"If I don't get the antidote, what happens to Mira?" I ask Gaius, Merlin and I stand next to him now.
"The Mortaeus induces a slow and painful death. She may hold out for four, maybe five days, but not for much longer. Eventually, She will die." Gaius says this, I could feel my heart breaking at this news now, I know Merlin's thinking the same. I meet with my father in the Red Ribbon Corridor we've been arguing for a long time.
