Mae sprinted up the hill, and by the time she reached her friends, she was out of breath. She plopped down on the grass with Cerise and Lillian, pointing out clouds. "Lillian! Mae! Look at that one! It's shaped like a heart!"
Mae suddenly remembered what she was there for and sat up. "Speaking of hearts," She started, "I have a surprise!" The other girls Oohed and Ahhed as Mae took a small pouch out of her backpack.
She got out 3 heart shaped charms, one for each of the girls. "I love it Mae!" Lillian cried. The girls all held their charms up to the crimson sky, and hugged as they walked back to their house.
"Guys!" Cerise called out, "My mom said we can have a slumber party!" Lillian and Mae ran inside and greeted Ms. Kline with a quick 'Hello!' and ran up to Cerise's room. They dashed up the stairs and threw on pajamas. Lillian blasted the radio, as the girls' 'song' came on. The girls squealed, and started singing.
"We live on, like the sun,
We'll never die, and if we do,
I'll still love you.
We'll live on."The song played on for what seemed like an eternity, until another, slightly more upbeat song was heard.
