Chapter 1 - Upgrades

A/N - Just wanted to state before this starts, Slight spoilers but also I won't be following the manga too closely. Though this does take place around the time of the Yakuza raid Some characters may have altered personalities as well. First attempt at a fan fic so all feedback and tips welcome :)

Going to the support room was always an adventure for Izuku Midoriya. Why you may ask? Well that's quite simple, the chaos mixed with the quirky inventions that a gifted student made. Her name was Mei Hatsume and little did these two know, their lives were about to be changed. For the better.

After some intense battle training and getting his rear handed to him by Bakugo, he decided he had enough. It was time to go see if he could get some reinforced gloves and possibly some new lining to his suit. After all, getting blasted and burned wasn't very fun. As he approached the door however he slowed down, noticing the slight smell of gunpowder and smoke in the air.

BOOOOOM

"Holy cow!"

As he tried to get up and clear his eyes from the sting of smoke he felt a weight on his chest. Looking down he saw that it was Hatsume and she was covered in a ash like substance.

"Hello, didn't see you down there! Sorry about that, my baby was acting up again"

"It's all good" he said, as he helped her back onto her feet. "So, what were you working on this time?"

"A new engine for your classmate, Fido or something. I call it baby 102"

That means there's 101 other inventions she has? That's inspiring and terrifying at the same time. Does she ever sleep?  That's impressive, but his name is Ida not Fido."

"Eh, machines are easier to deal with than people. They don't care if you don't remember a name. Now lets go talk to Sensei about your upgrade, that is why you are here right?"

As she went back in Midoriya followed, trying not step on the sharp fragments of metal on the ground. "Well I've got to go back in about 15 minutes but want me to help with the mess while you look over the forms? Wait a second where's Mr Power Loader?"

"Oh don't worry about him, he's just making some coffee. I might take a cup from him myself. If possible I'd like to get the engine worked out tonight so I can work on your baby tomorrow."

Midoriya went and swept up the dust, ash, and metal while Hatsume looked over his idea's for improvement. After putting the broom back and walking over he noticed the confused look on her face. 

"Did I mess something up in the outline?" 

Startled she looked back up at him. "No, just thinking to myself. Are you sure you're gonna be able to move around if I do this? Even with the lightest stuff I can find if you want it to be that durable its gonna add at least a few pounds."

He smiled back and went into Full Cowling at around 5%. "A few pounds is nothing. This is 5% and look what I can do" he said, while lifting up a 30 pound iron bar in the back like its a featherweight. "I can control around 12-14% when fighting so I can't see a few pounds slowing that down".

"Alright, suit yourself. I'll try to have it ready in a few days."

"Have what ready in a few days?" asked the support homeroom teacher as he walked out with a freshly brewed cup of coffee.

"Hello sir, she said she wanted to work on my latest request for my suit and gloves so I figured there wouldn't be any harm in that even if you weren't here."

"Well she does look quite please that you trust her that much to let her work on it without teacher permission" said Mr Power Loader, while looking over at a beaming Mei.
