Honey woke up early, the sound of Melantha's soft bird snores filling the room. Honey smiled at her peculiar bird as she sat up from her bed with a slight stretch. She slid her feet into her slippers as she arose from her bed and walked out of her room. She grogily walked to her living room to find her father sitting in his usual chair reading calmly. She plopped into her chair tiredly.

"Feeling dramatic today I see," Severus said without looking up. He turned a page slowly and then finally he looked up to meet an exhausted Honey.

"If you're nervous about today's sorting, I would suggest having a cup of tea." He said gesturing to the small kitchen in the back. Honey laughed slightly as she stood from her chair and walked over to the tea kettle. Their kitchen was small and was almost empty for the majority of the year, they really didn't use their kitchen since Honey had started at Hogwarts except for durring summer break. She began to warm the tea kettle and found herself lost in a tornado of thoughts.

'What if I don't get sorted again, and I have to go through the same embarrassment. Or what if I do get sorted and I'm not happy with it. What if-' her thoughts were stopped when she became aware of a gentle rub against her ankles. She looked down to see a rather happy Ciaran gently running between her feet. She gently bent down and picked up her loving kitten.

"How is it that whenever I need some love you are right there, how can you tell?" She pondered while stroking the kitten's chin. He mewled happily in her arms a gently pure running through his tiny body. Honey could have held him all day but at the sound of the kettle, she was forced to return him to the ground by her ankles. She quickly poured herself a small cup of tea and moved back to her chair careful not to spill a drop. She took a few sips of her tea and she physically felt her body relax the moment the warm liquid moved down her body.

"You were right dad, about both. I am very nervous about sorting today." She said placing her tea down on the small circular table in-between their chairs.

"I had no idea," Severus said sarcastically, closing his book and setting the book down in his lap. At that moment Ciaran jumped up to lay in Honey's lap, and glare over at Severus. He raised an eyebrow at the cat.

"I'm just so scared I'm going to  embarrass us again," Honey sighed a little shakily. Severus stared blankly at the girl surprised by her words.

"Us?" He questioned her.

"You, Harry, the Potters, The very name of Snape, myself, the school, US!" Honey rambled on quickly, getting more and more frantic sounding with each name.

" You won't embarrass anyone, only yourself if you truly desire, But you have no reason, the hat knows what it's doing and if it chooses not to sort you once again it will be with reason. If it makes you feel any better I'm sure Dumbledore could allow you to try sorting again after the students have gone back to their houses. Now if you have calmed down I would like to finish some work before I start today." Severus said as comforting as the cold man could hope to sound, before picking up his book and returning his attention onto its pages.

"Thank you, dad, it means a lot." Honey said with a smile as she heaved herself from her cushy chair.

"Now if you excuse me I believe I have some studying to get done." Honey said grabbing her teacup and leaving her father with a joyful smile on her lips. She returned to her room the anxiety from early much lighter on her shoulders. She wasnt completely at ease but it felt better not to let her father worry. She gently sat on her bed her feet no longer touching the ground as she looked out the window in her room. She thought for a moment for a way to entertain herself until it was time to get ready for the welcome ceremony for that night. She found herself thinking of her last school year and all that had happened, her young mind could still barely processes it. She thought about all the fear she had after last year's ceremony, she thought about her friends who stuck with her through all the chaos the year brought, which lead her to Draco.
