Prologue - Arrival at Alpha Omega

September 5, 2021 - Alpha Omega Science Lab - 10:00

Alpha Omega Science Lab. Located in Australia, though very far away from the major cities, it is one of the greatest and most prestigious science labs in the world, with the studies of all the sciences. Biology, chemistry, geology, but above all, their astronomical discoveries have made them over the top. And with all that, if you have any interest in science, you can be employed there, put on a team depending on the science you want to study. Biologists go in the Beta Team, chemistry in the Chi Team, geologists in the Omega Team, but astronomers, they go in the Alpha Team. And within the Alpha team is where many smart minds sit.

Everyone on the Alpha Team is unique, in a way. All have a different backstory, different ideas, different everything. The team is like an ant colony: when they are all together, they can create something new. But among them all is the most unique, the youngest of them all.

At only 15 years of age, Daniel Carter had already made himself a spot on the Alpha Team. No one knows how he managed to get in, especially considering how long it took the others on the team to get in. Maybe he presented himself well, with how good he looks, with the dark hair, as smooth and silky as, well, silk, and his 183 cm tall figure, alongside an unpredictable, though laid-back nature. Maybe his intelligence is so high it rivals those like Stephen Hawking or Albert Einstein. Maybe he just had an insane interest in science? Whatever it is, everyone on the Alpha Team has welcomed him. As he arrived at Alpha Omega, he scanned his card, and walked inside.

"Good morning, Mr. Carter. How are you?" the security guard asked as Daniel entered.

"Um... good?" he replied.

"Your buddies on Alpha are requesting for your attention. Go to Room 420, and put your belongings into space 69." 

Daniel walked through the corridor, to Room 420. He still could not believe that his team's rooms are exactly 420, 666, 911 and 1337. It's almost as if someone rigged it just so people could laugh. He still laughs to this day, nonetheless.

"Morning, Daniel." a member of the Alpha Team said.

"Morning, Tanaka." Daniel replied.

Tanaka Kobayashi, another member of the Alpha Team, is 40 years old and the father of one child. He came to Alpha Omega from Japan when he was offered a job here ten years ago. He knows a lot of English now, but some people, including Daniel, prefer to speak in Japanese just for him. Tanaka is the type of person who takes care of family and friends first, and is like a father figure for the Alpha Team.

"So what is this big discovery?" Daniel asked.

"You'll see when you approach the lab." Tanaka replied.

As they approach Room 420, a young girl, aged around five years old, approaches Tanaka and starts to speak Japanese to him. After some time, the two stopped talking as they approached the room.

"Who was that?" Daniel asked.

"This, is my daughter, Hikari." Tanaka replied.

"Why would you bring your child to work?"

"Her preschool was closed today, and Yui is visiting family back at home."

"Someone needs to tell their child about the work we do here." another team member said.

"Nani?" Daniel and Tanaka said in unison.

"Oh yes. Did you forget that Musk was in the room?"

Musk always refers to himself in the third person. Primarily because Musk values Musk over all of those 'inferior' to Musk. Though in reality, he does care for the team, and will do anything to protect them from any harm.

"While you two... and the child were away, Musk had made an amazing discovery."

"Musk, remember who else made the discovery." another person said.

"Musk understands, Emilia." Musk replied.

Emilia was our competitive member of the team. Her motivation comes from when a rival team: or any rival comes along. Like many, she will rush to find any scientific breakthrough. 

"We have finally made a massive discovery! This will make us into gods, unlike those idiots at Black Mesa."

"Just tell us already. I'd like to send my daughter to some playground soon." Tanaka said.

"Look through the telescope... once Lee finishes."

Lee was our silent member on the Alpha Team. He doesn't speak, unless spoken to, although he cooperates with us. It seems his silence leads to something greater.

"So, what is this scientific discovery?" Daniel asked.

This is my first Wattpad story, intended to be good and terrible at the same time.
