The way back was silent.
Enna and Zalina didn't talk that much. Which was strange for Zalina. Zalina was the most talkative in their group. Alyssa thought she just had to start a conversation with them. (She was bored of their silence)
"Uh, back there," She said.
Enna stared at her from the back. "What?"
"What happened back there?" Alyssa asked. "The letter? What you mentioned about you and Zalina meeting the Ruby Kingdom?"
Enna looked down at her feet. She wasn't sad, or angry. Alyssa couldn't tell, but her expression was pretty grim.
"You really want to know?" she said, still looking down at her feet.
Alyssa nodded, wondering why Enna seemed... well, she didn't know. Enna told her all that happened. It had happened two years ago.
"Queen Angelica let us visit the Kingdom of rubies. She asked Queen Melinda if we could stay there," She raised an eyebrow at Alyssa. "You know who Queen Melinda is, right?"
"Of course I do!"
"Well," Enna continued. "Zalina and I made some friends with some girls who are lost princesses like us. Their names are Cyressa and Vanessa."
Alyssa thought it was pretty hilarious that both girls' names ended with an essa. But she didn't want to laugh in this serious conversation. (It wasn't really that serious.)
"Anyway, yeah," Enna said. "We were best friends for like, 5 days?"
"5 days? Why? What happened?"
"They betrayed us," Enna scowled. Alyssa got the feeling she didn't want to say anything more about them.
"How old were you when that happened?" She decided.
Enna looked at her. "Oh, I was ten."
It was silent for a long time. Alyssa wanted to ask more, but Enna's expression gave her a hint that she didn't want to talk about it.
They finally reached the island of the Green Sea. Alyssa stared at the boat. It was too big. The three of them couldn't carry it all the way to the castle or bring it with them in the Golden Taxi.
"What are we gonna do with that thing?" Alyssa asked Enna.
Enna shrugged, "My wand is out of power for a while. I suppose we could leave it here until my wand works again. Then I can teleport it to the castle."
Alyssa glanced at the boat. She wondered why they needed a boat. Their expressions were like, Oh, no! Our boat is broken. Oh, wait, here's a new one.
"Come on, guys," Zalina urged. "Oh, wait. Alyssa, do you have the crown?"
Alyssa nodded. They headed toward the forest, which leads back to the castle.
