Chapter L
Scarlett Ruse
It was raining, the gloomy streets of Paris looking far too cold today. The streets were empty, making it easier for me to drive faster.
I don't think I've ever driven so rashly in my entire life. But today, no rules were to be followed. Not when my sisters life was on the line.
I almost ran a woman over, swerving in between lanes. Sucking in a small breath, I screeched to a stop in front of the building I had figured to be the hideout.
Gripping onto the M16, I slung it over my shoulder, opening my door.
I rushed into the building, not caring about the fact that this could be a setup. I just wanted to make sure my sister was okay. That she was alive.
Fear gripping my heart, I entered the abandoned hospital.
My ears twitched at the sound of metal scrapping.
Stealthily peaking into the room, my gun raised, I scanned it for any threats.
The room in front of me made my blood run cold.
It was an old dispensary, a metal bed with straps looked like it had been used recently.
There were electrodes lying next to it making me stop in my step. If they dared to use that on my sister, I will have no mercy for them.
There was blood splashed on the walls, a bunch of werewolves lay dead around the room. It almost seemed as someone else had attacked them.
I sniffed the room to get some smell of her. I could smell her blood but it was very faint. She had been here a few hours ago.
I was late.
"She's not here." I whispered to myself as the realization dawned on me.
Slowly looking around the room, I gagged.
I ran out of the building, no longer being able to stand that room. It felt like the walls were closing in on me.
It had started to pour faster outside, the cold water trickling down my face, my tears washing away with them.
Gripping onto my hair, I closed my eyes.
WHERE WAS SHE?
It had been over two months of us searching for her. Yet, this was the closest we had gotten. Just a room filled with the smell of fear and revenge, the stench of blood evident.
