"Okay. I'll be on my way then. Are you sure it's okay if I leave Daisy here with you?" I asked Finn as I made sure I had all the paperwork I needed.

"Yes, of course. It's not like you can take her with you to the accountant," he replied.

"I mean, no, I couldn't. But..." I started.

"No buts. Don't worry I'll take care of her. Besides, it gives us a chance to get to know each other a little better. She doesn't seem to like me very much. I hope I can change that." Finn explained.

"Don't say that. Of course she likes you. She just needs to get used to you. She's not used to sharing me and is probably just a little jealous." I said, looking over at Daisy who was peacefully lying on her blanket sleeping.

"Oh really? A little? She always pushes herself between us when we're on the couch together or nudges my hand away when it's resting on your leg. I call that super jealous." he replied with a grin.

"Yeah yeah. Whatever you say. I'm heading out. I'll see you guys later. When I'm done with my appointment, I'm going to do some quick shopping for dinner. What do you think about grilled salmon, mango salsa and brown rice?" I asked as I put my hands on his strong shoulders and looked up at him.

"Sounds great. Now go! I don't want you to be late." said Finn before giving me a quick kiss and a light slap on the butt.

"Okay. See you later." I replied and hurried out the door and to my car.

A few hours later I had just arrived back at Finn's house. But as I walked into the house I saw Finn looking for something in a near panic.

"Hey babe. What are you doing?" I asked as I brought the bag of groceries into the kitchen.

"Um... well... I've... kind of lost Daisy." he confessed.

"You what? How could you lose her? How could that happen?" I asked loudly.

"We were in the backyard playing. Then the doorbell rang. I went to the door to see who it was and left her in the backyard for the time it took. It was some salesman and it took forever to get rid of him. When I went back to check on Daisy, she was gone. I looked everywhere and can't find her." he explained to me dejectedly.

"I can't believe it. I can't believe you lost my dog!" I snorted, but immediately felt guilty. It wasn't his fault. It could have happened to anyone. I took a deep breath to calm myself.

"Are you sure you looked everywhere? Was the gate to the backyard closed?" I asked a little more calmly as I started running around the house looking for Daisy as well.

"Yes it was. But Daisy isn't exactly big. I just hope she didn't squeeze herself under the gate. She must be around here somewhere, but I've looked everywhere," Finn said, running his fingers through his hair in frustration.

Together we searched the whole house again for my little Maltese. Where could she be?

"Did you also look in the bedroom?" I asked after I had gone through all possible places in my head.

"I did, but she can't be there because the door was closed before," he said as he knelt down to look under the couch.

Even if he was right, I wanted to search there again myself. I entered the bedroom and began to search for my little one. Under the bed, in the closet, in all the places I could think of. But without success.

I let myself fall back on the bed, disappointed and sad. As I lay there rubbing my hands over my face, I suddenly heard a familiar noise next to me. It sounded like Daisy's snoring. My eyes wandered in the direction of the noise and landed on Finn's pillow.

I sat up and carefully lifted the pillow. There she lay, snoring blissfully in her sleep. Completely unaware that Finn and I had turned the whole house upside down to find her.

"Finn! Come in here!" I called out in relief.

"What's wrong?" he asked as he came into the room.

"Look." I replied, pointing under his pillow.

"Oh thank God." he breathed.

"So much for her not liking you. She was hiding under your pillow. I think she was always trying to squeeze in between us because she likes you more than me." I laughed with relief. I took Daisy in my arms and scratched her behind the ear. She finally woke up and looked at me happily. Of course she had no idea what a mess she had caused.

"But... How did she get in here? The door was closed." wondered Finn.

"I don't know. Maybe she sneaked in when you were here looking for her. Sneaky little monster." said I, kissing the top of her head.

"You know what, it doesn't really matter. As long as she's back." he replied and sat down next to us on the bed. He petted Daisy and she immediately started licking his hand while wagging her tail like crazy.

"See, I told you she likes you," I said and gave him a kiss.
