"let her go," captain america's voice boomed over the highway, startling the guards."i'm sorry sir, we can't do that. she's a problem."
"she's not the one being scared to death at the moment," natasha popped up, scoffing.
"how'd you find us?" another guard asked.
"i don't know, maybe it was the yelling," sam landed on top of the main vehicle, causing the men dressed in armor to raise their weapons and aim at him.
"i don't want to do this the hard way," steve warned, whipping his shield over his shoulder and holding his stance. "just hand her over."
"we'll be putting everyone in danger!" the guard next to luna shouted, frightening her.
"don't make us fire," a blonde man warned, reaching for luna's cuffs and tightening them, when he was suddenly burned.
"what now?"
"the cuffs, they don't work!" he panicked, and the next thing everyone knew, sam flew down, picking up the two guards closest to the younger girl and attaching them to two separate flag poles.
"i thought we told you no wedgies," steve groaned, jumping down onto the road and rushing towards luna. "that was fairly reasonable," he glanced at the other guards who took a step away from the super soldier. "i'm steve rogers, what's your name?"
"luna dunn."
"oh, sorry!" steve mumbled, dropping the now broken cuffs. "those weren't very good," he awkwardly scratched his neck, looking back at the guards.
"hey," natasha walked up to them, and they all scattered. "let's get you somewhere safe, yeah?"
and that's how luna met clint and his family.
"you can stay here as long as you don't burn anything," the archer joked.
"barton."
"i know, i'm kidding."
"this is your new home until you're old enough to be a part of the avengers-"
"what if she doesn't want to be an avenger?"
"who wouldn't want to be an avenger?" luna spoke up for the first time since they landed.
"people who don't want their lives in danger."
"i just wanna know why they were after you," sam murmured, referring to the horrible guards.
"they're a new organization chasing after demigods," nat sighed, accepting a mug from laura. "they have power, and they think they're a danger to the world."
"thor's a literal god, and this organization chooses to spend their time chases after kids?"
"thor's an avenger, everyone knows he's good," steve rubbed his temple.
"it's getting late," laura joined in on the conversation, sharing a look with clint then nodding to the front door.
"right," steve abruptly stood up. "well, like we were saying, you'll be staying here for a bit. wanda and nat will visit often to help you with training. i'll see you when you're of age," he reached out to shake her hand, but he retracted it.
"i can control my powers," luna smiled, causing steve to do the same and reach out.
"see you soon."
