How She Came Out Alive

Sometimes we meet with such horrendous accidents that our survival feels like a miracle in itself. It is here when we feel like we all have a hero in our lives. This hero comes unexpectedly and saves us. This hero might be a person or even a thing. For Riya, it was something she never thought would become her saviour one day!We all are going through the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic. Life is in shambles and we are too tired, frustrated, and apprehensive all the time. Well, this has definitely been the scenario with Riya. Riya has been working all through the year. Post the lockdown, she started working from home. Although it was relieving initially it became tiresome gradually. Living alone gives you a lot of freedom and free will but it has its own cons too. Riya used to work all day and take lunch and dinner breaks in between. Life was monotonous but at least she was safe and healthy in her house. Everything was running, rather crawling at the same pace inside the house regardless of what was happening outside. Riya was bored but grateful for having a place to live safely!Just a week before the lockdown was imposed, Riya got her entire house renovated. Since childhood, it was her dream to have a home with luxurious interiors. She had been working tremendously hard for years to get the modular kitchen of her dreams. She participated with equal enthusiasm in the interior designing of her house with the interior designers. Finally, her dream house was ready and she was ready to throw a grand house-warming party. Sadly, the terrible pandemic grew widespread and a national lockdown was imposed soon after. Since then, Riya had been waiting impatiently for the world to get better so that she could enjoy the happiness of her with the people of her own little world. Riya would plan her party every day and come up with safer and more creative ideas every day. Just like any other night, she came to bed, tired. She ran as fast as she could and came to the house. Till the time she called the firemen, many people had gathered there. Riya was heartbroken. The house of dreams of burning and turning into ashes. However, she couldn't understand how the intense fire had not spread profusely inside the room. After the fire was put off, Riya stayed at her friend's house for a couple of days. She got in touch with the insurance company and then her interior designer. Finally, she decided to get her beautiful abode renovated to a minimal. It was during one of her meetings with the interior designer that she found out about her saviour. It was her bedroom's false ceiling!Seems surprising?
