My fingers slipped from comic book to comic book. Not sure if and which one I should buy. My sister was going to kill me, if I bought some, just because it would be another part of the mess on our bedroom floor. I sighed as I turned around to leave. But as soon as I faced the shelf across from me I couldn’t resist. I walked over and grabbed the first one I didn’t know. With it in my hand I got to the cashier and paid for it. I hoped she wouldn’t kill me for it but at the same time, it was my room too.
I pulled my hood over my head and began walking down the road, towards my house. I sighed as I felt a rain drop fell on my hand. Somehow trying to protect the book in my hand I hold it closer to my body and began to run. Only a few hundred metres were left but as someone who avoided running at any means I knew it wasn’t my forte. When I reached home I was completely soaked but at least my comic didn’t get too wet. I reached for my key in my pocket and opened the door. I shook my head, trying to get rid of the water in my hair. I just changed into some warm, comfy pullover and sweatpants when the door bell rang. Groaning I put the comic on my nightstand. Actually, I wanted to read it, but apparently I wasn’t going to. “I’m coming”, I yelled as their knocked against the door again. Carefully, as not to trip over my own feet, I walked down the stairs. I opened the door and my best friend Caty looked at me. “Hey” I smiled and got out of the way, so she could come in. She went into my kitchen straight away. Yeah, she was here way too often. Playfully rolling my eyes I went after her. It didn’t even surprise me when I saw her, her head nearly in my fridge, searching for something to eat. “Sometimes I think you just come visit me for my food” “I do, Jessy” She laughed. “Anyway, what are we doing today?” Finally she found something and turned her attention back to me, a bar of chocolate in her hand. "I don't know" To be honest I really wanted to go back upstairs and start reading my new comic. Okay, I maybe was a bit obsessed but drawing and writing combined was like heaven on earth for me. “Wow, we’re way too uncreative” I nodded and grabbed a piece of her chocolate. “We could continue watching ‘White Collar’” Cate frowned, then shook her head. “That’s for our movie night on Friday. Why don’t we go out and do something social?” “Because we’re us” I laughed and she gave me a glare. “And that’s why we have to change that” Not really understanding her way of thinking I just nodded.
“Okay, let’s go to the mall” I suggested, already grabbing my bag. “Okay, I drive” Before I knew what she was doing, she had stolen my keys out of my hand and was walking out of my door, towards my car. Groaning I went after her. “Hurry up! We’ll actually going out into the real world and get something to eat” Cate yelled while getting in my car. I just sighed and jogged the rest of the way. It was a short ride to the mall and a few minutes later we were in the parking lot. Luckily there weren’t a lot of people. I forgot to change before we left, so I still was in my baggy clothes. We went into the mall. “So, where should we go?” I asked, looking around. Even though I’ve never really been here before, I knew it was a pretty huge mall. I’m more into shopping in the city. “Okay, so there’s this pizza place on the other side from here and I heard it is amazing” She looked at me, expecting my answer so I just shrugged. Her whole face lit up and I just smiled. Weird, how food could make her so happy. We started to walk towards it. I looked through a lot of shop windows and sometimes even saw something I liked, so maybe we would have to come here again. But I never stopped walking, until we reached the bookstore. Automatically I stopped in my tracks and went over to its window. Caty didn’t notice I was gone until she was at least thirty metres ahead. I could practically feel her groan as she made her way back to me. “Seriously? You just let me walk on and talk to no one?” I laughed. “Sorry, just got distracted” “I noticed” She let me look at the books and comics for a while, then she grabbed my arm and pulled me away. “Now, come on. I’m hungry” I let her drag me along. I would go back to the store some time and actually take a look inside, for now I really wanted to eat something. We got to the place and ordered. While we waited I looked around. It was a nice, small place. There were pictures hanging on the wall with a few celebrities that visit this restaurant. It were only a few, but I nearly knew everyone of them. Though the big windows the sun shined and filled the small room with light. Only a few people were here and it wasn’t too loud which was nice. It didn’t even take long till we got our food. The pizza was amazing and we decided that we would come back before we would start our movie night on Friday. We paid and went to leave. Since we both saw things we liked we wanted to go around for a while and maybe go into some of the shops. I still wanted to go into the bookstore, so we split. She went into a shop across from the books, and we said we would meet again in ten minutes. Smiling I went into the store.
