I played with the trim of my shawl whilst sitting across from Tewkesbury in his bedroom at his Uncle's home. The room was quite grand yet didn't have that home-like feeling.

"How is it being a Lady Detective?" I was brought out of my thoughts by the sound of Tewkesbury's smooth voice asking me a question.

"Well no one is even giving me a chance!" I answered, frustrated. "I've been denied from way more cases than I have completed."

"Well they're all just foolish then, aren't they? You are incredible and if others can't see that then they are just daft." He reassured, making my cheeks flush a peachy red due to his kind words.
"You should take on the case of the Crofts. They're a close family friend and their daughter Alexa has been missing for almost four days now."

I furrowed my brows at him at the name of the Crofts, still annoyed that they turned me down. "They don't want me to take their case." I mumbled incoherently.

Tewks still managed to make sense of my words and flashed a small grin.

"You were told not to solve the disappearance of me or your mother yet you did it anyways. So what's stopping you now?"

It had been 2 days since I had met with Tewkesbury and he had managed to convince me to take on the case of the missing Alexa Croft.

I had been gathering every single bit of information I could get on Alexa and her family of Crofts. Now I had papers scattered across the floor full of articles with details about the missing girl, information on her family and statements from people who personally knew the Crofts which I managed to get using a lot of my persuasive skills.

From all of the information which I had gathered, I made notes on everything I knew about the missing girl and her family so far.

The Missing Croft:
Lady Alexa Croft has been missing for six days now.

Family:
Father: Earl William Croft
Mother: Countess Merideth Croft
Older Brother: Viscount Frederick Croft. (Will take over his father's mantle soon)

Case details:
The young Lady went missing from her family home in London nearly six days ago and there has been no sign of her since. Alexa Croft was always quite a rebellious girl and brought shame to her family name so it's thought that she has run away.
Searches for the missing Lady continue.

I read over my note for what felt like the tenth time, still not understanding what I was missing. It seemed like a simple case, right? Alexa was sick of her tight family so ran away but to me it seemed like there was more to this case than what meets the eye.

She could have possibly been kidnapped; after all, she came from a rich family so would be an easy target for kidnappers trying to make hundreds of pounds. However, to my knowledge, there hadn't been a letter or anything demanding for ransom. If Alexa had actually been kidnapped, the kidnappers would have probably demanded a payment by now but no such thing had come to attention.

Frustrated, I collected up all my notes and papers which I had scattered about and stuffed them in a drawer. Despite all the information I had collected, it wasn't enough. There was barely any information on the dissappearence - the articles about it in the papers were always vague and I hadn't even seen any posters informing people about the missing Croft out in the streets.

If I was going to solve this case and find the missing Alexa Croft, I would have to get clues from the place of the dissappearence.

Time to pay the Croft's a little visit.
The game is afoot.

Quite a short chapter for you guys but I just wanted to hurry up and put out an update.
