FROSTBURN || Min Yoongi

Chapter 8

I woke up next morning, finding the room empty. After using the bathroom and freshening myself up, I headed towards the cafeteria for breakfast. I haven't eaten anything yesterday, thanks to the events, I was starving.

Finally arriving the cafeteria, I got in line with my tray. They handed us the pills and made sure we took them. Then, the line continued for the food. 

Finally getting my food, I turned around and looked for a place to sit. My eyes landed on a familiar pink head waving at me. Yuri, Jungkook and Taehyung were waving at me to sit with them at their table while the others had smiles on their faces. Except Yoongi. He just continued eating without looking at me. 

'I don't need anyone' 

My voice rang in my head. I ignored their waving and sat down at a different table, eating quietly by myself. Suddenly, I heard some shuffling around me. Looking up, I saw Yuri sitting down beside me and the others started fallowing after her. 

I looked at them with a confused expression but they ignored me. I saw Yoongi making a face and leaving the table he was sitting at. 

"Well, this tastes like shit." Taehyung said, taking a bite out of his food on the tray.

"Namjoon hyungs cooking would taste better than this shit." Jimin jined.

"Hey! Don't get me into this." 

"Guys, don't start at the table." Jin warned, making the whole table burst in laughter.

They just kept talking randomly and laughing at things. This was all so new for me that it scared me. It was annoying. The more I pushed them away, it was like, the closer they got.

As we continued eating, I found myself involuntarily listening to their conversations without noticing the small smile that was playing at the corner of my lip.

"Aeraaa unnieee," Yuri's head poked inside my room, taking me by surprise. "let's go outside for some air mhm?"

 Why was I even surprised anymore. I should be used to the fact that they won't be leaving me alone. 

"I have testing later on today. I'd rather stay in." I answered.

"Ah, come on! It'll be fine. Some fresh air would be good for you, come on!"

Well, it looked like she wasn't taking no as an answer. I sighed and got out of the bed. 

"Yeeeyy!" 

She pulled me out, dragging me outside by the wrist.  Normally, I would've pulled my hand away but for some reason, I felt like that could hurt her. Why did I care if I hurt her? The sudden thought made me panic and I quickly pulled my hand away.

She stopped in her track to look at me but then continued walking with a smile, making me fallow after her. 

The place literally looked like prison. Tall walls surrounded the area only leaving the ceiling open, although, that was also secured by an magnetic field. I could tell. There were also tables around the place.

But hey, I wasn't complaining. It's been a long time since I've enjoyed the open sky. The bright blue color shone elegantly on us and fresh air brushing my skin softly, it felt nice. It made me hopeful. Hopeful, that I could enjoy this outside...

"I heard she's the new girl."

"Yeah, the one who got in trouble yesterday."

"I heard that they called her the ice queen in her old facility."

"She must think she's all that to pull an act like that."

"Well, she did get what she deserved." 

My hands balled into fists and I could feel my frost traveling up my arm. The girls behind us were just sitting there talking, knowing damn well that I could hear them. When I was about to get up from where we were seated with Yuri, a hand covered my frosted fist making me stop in my act. 

Yuri had her hand on my fist, not looking at me, not doing anything, just holding my hand.

"Ahh, some people are asking to be beaten aren't they Kookie?" 

"They sure are hyung." 

Yuri and I turned around seeing Namjoon and Jungkook behind us. The girls immediately got up from their seats, going somewhere else. I wanted to say thanks but I couldn't. I just nodded my head at them while they took a seat beside us.

"Have you guys seen Jin and Jimin?" Asked Namjoon.

"Oh, they have code 2 training don't they?" Yuri said.

"Yeah that's right, I forgot." 

"Anyways, do you guys-" 

Yuri started but immediately got cut off by a random boy yelling from the entrance.

"Yuri, the medical team is calling for you."

"Oh, okay." She turned to us, "I'll see you guys later okay? Bye" and with that, she rushed to the exit.

Was she always this happy? She had so much energy that it actually exhausted me.

Suddenly, Namjoon started chuckling from beside me.

"She's quite the bubbly one isn't she?"

Did he just read my mind? What was his power again??

"Yeah sorry about that, it became a habit. I can read minds and use telekinesis." Namjoon answered reading my mind again.

Oh great, we have a mind reader.

"Hey, come on. Don't be like that. Besides, I have to be close to you in able to read your mind. Thanks to the pills I can't read people from a distance." He chuckled.

As soon as he said that, I scooted to the other side towards Jungkook which made both of them laugh. 

"Hey, I know you probably don't want to hear this but can I give you a piece of advise?" Asked Namjoon, without looking at me.

"If you know I don't want it, why ask?"

"Jeez women, let me speak!" This actually caused me to smile. 

"Anyways, I know you don't like it, people I mean. But don't push it away. Let time decide what's right or wrong for you. Who knows? You might like the outcome."

"I get  that you all are trying to help and all but I can't do bonding, I don't do people." I said.

"Noona, it's not that you can't, You don't want to. You're sacred to open up, letting people in because the more people there is, the more hurt you'll get or the harder it will be for you to protect them. I get it, trust me. I've been there."

I was shocked at Jungkook's words. He was always so kind and energetic that him being the same as me didn't sound right.

"He was such a brat. He even made Yuri cry once. Yoongi almost beat the shit out of him." Namjoon said chuckling, earning a punch to his shoulder from the younger one. 

"All I'm trying to say is, don't push us away."

I stayed quiet not saying anything and neither of them seemed to mind that. We stayed in silence looking at the clouds for a while until they got up to leave.

"See you around ice queen." Namjoon said, sending me a playful wink, making me roll my eyes at him.

I don't know what came over me but I found myself opening my mouth and my own voice shocked me.

"Jungkook," I took a deep breath. "sorry for yesterday with the, you know-"

"It's alright noona. All forgotten."

He smiled at me before the two of them started walking away, leaving me behind with this unknown feeling in my stomach.
