Land of the Okas

Prophecy of the sea:

When I woke up it wasn't fully dark in my egg, which meant there was a crack. Was I hatching? I didn't really know what to think but I knew I didn't like it in this egg. I reached my claws into the crack and peeled away the shell. When I got out I saw four other unhatched cavelings in the cave with me; this meant I was the first one out and I couldn't wait to meet my brothers and sisters. I stopped to explore for a little bit and soon I heard some cracking! One of my cavelings was hatching! Coming out of a navy blue egg with indigo spots came a sky-blue male oka with a navy blue tail, silver spots and a white belly. "WOW! You are so beautiful" I said to my new brother. "Oh um thank you" he said. "What do I look like?" I asked since there was no way to see. " You are really pretty too, you have teal scales with yellow spots and a dark blue belly, you also have one green eye and one navy blue eye." Said my new brother. "Wow! That sounds pretty cool" I said. We heard some more cracking and out of an aquamarine egg came an aquamarine oka with sky blue spots we greeted each other and more and more kept hatching. Out of a dark blue egg with grey and white spots came a dark blue male oka with white spots and a grey belly. And lastly out of an iridescent egg came an iridescent female oka with silver spots and a gold belly. "HELLOOOOO!! BROTHERS AND SISTERS!!" I shouted and they all smiled. "Hi! Can we go explore?" said the navy blue one. "Sure!" I said. I was scared because I was the first hatched, which meant I was in charge. How can I be in charge of all five of us!? I thought . "Well Water okas are strong we can make it, I thought to myself. "I'm first, sky blue silver spots you are second, aquamarine you're third, dark blue with grey and white you're fourth and iridescent you are fifth. Order of hatching . I want us in a single file line, let's go!" I said. "Wow you are really bossy," said the first in line. "Sorry. I'm just really nervous," I said. "Oh," he said. I didn't know where we were going, but I pretended to and I just told the others I knew what I was doing because I didn't want them to think I was dumb. After all I was in charge. We swam around for a little bit and I eventually spotted a huge cave with beautiful coral all around it in every colour imaginable. "Let's go in here!" I said and the others followed me in. "Hello, it's oh so nice to meet you. I'm very thrilled that I can greet you. Now come on in and let me seat you," said a mysterious looking oka. "Who are you?" I asked.

"King Starfish is my name.

In the Sea Kingdom I have my fame.

You may notice I speak in rhyme.

I speak in this way all the time,"

said King starfish. We all bowed before him and I said, "I hope we aren't barging in, your majesty, but I must ask what is going on?

"I will tell you now a prophecy that the spirits of the sea have brought to me. The hatchlings of the king and queen are bound to be both heard and seen.

The first one hatched is named Seastar.

This young oka will travel far.

The second hatched will go by wave.

Okas of great importance he will save.

The third one hatched has the name Aqua. She will cross the pit of lava.

The fourth one hatched is named whirlpool. He will create an oka school.

The last one hatched will be named pearl.

She is not a mortal girl"

My mind was racing. I'm a daughter of the king and queen? I'll travel far?

"Ahem!!" shouted King Starfish.

"I'm sorry my children but you can't stay.

You'd better go.

Get on your way,"

said King starfish. "Oh ok. C'mon guys!" I said.

That night I had a dream that I was travelling the world looking for special medicine because Aqua was sick. It woke me up and when I woke up I found that she looked quite sick. I wanted to make sure everyone else was ok too and I found that Whirlpool also lose ill. I spoke into the comunicoral which is a tube of coral running from our hatching cave to the palace which we will live in soon. I quickly and quietly woke up Wave and Pearl and we headed over to King starfish's. When we got there King Starfish said we needed to see Queen Anemone and he brought her out " How can I help you?" she said. "Our friends are sick and they need help!" I said. "Ok, take note of their symptoms and come back to me." said Queen Anemone. I led Wave and Pearl back home and we woke the others. Whirlpool was extremely pale and Pearl said her whole body hurt. We quickly swam to King Starfish and Queen Anemone's and Queen Anemone gave us some herbs and some potions to give to Whirlpool and Pearl. After a couple of days they were better.
