Chapter 1 new kid

Betty woke this morning to the birds chirping, the sun shining. Betty sighed and jumped up from bed, turned off her alarm clock that buzzed in her ears. She looked over at the boy next door Archie who was throwing on a shirt staring at his phone. She walked over and shut the blinds so she could change. Betty was wearing a pink shirt and some skin tight jeans. She heard the door slam shut behind her mother, off to work. "Bye Mom" Betty muttered before throwing her blonde thick hair into a ponytail. She grabbed an apple and shoved into her bag. She walked to her bathroom brushed her teeth and walked out the Cooper house.
Locking the door behimd her she met Archie outside at the sidewalk waiting for the perfect girl next door. Betty threw on her best smile and ran over to Archie. "Good morning ready for school" Archie said to Betty. "Yeah Arch I am I heard we are getting a new student and I am giving him a tour" Betty said walking to school right beside Archie. "Yeah I did yesterday but I heard he is bad news so just stay away" Archie said in his I know what I'm talking about voice. "Ok Arch I promise" Betty said as they walked into the Riverdale high school.
"See ya" Betty said as she started walking to the office. Betty knocked twice before coming in. "Hello Mr. Weatherbee" Betty said. "Hello this is Jug-" Mr. Weatherbee said getting interrupted by the kid sitting in the chair across from Me. Weatherbee. "Just call me new kid" the boy said standing up from the chair. "Oh ok let go then new kid" Betty said look at him curious of what his name is.
They shut the door behind them as they made there way out to the student lounge. "So may I ask where you moved from" Betty asked. "Toledo" the boy said. "Oh okay well what's your name" Betty said walking next to the boy. "I can't tell you or you'll make fun of me" the boy replied keeping his head down on the ground. "Oh no you have me all wrong I won't tease you I just have to know the mystery boys name" Betty said giggling a little. "Jughead Jones" Jughead sighed staring at the ground bracing himself for an attack of teasing and laughter. "I love it can I call you Jug?" Betty asked. "Oh sure I don't mind" Jug said staring into her eyes.
"Well here is the student lounge and this is were you do homework and hangout with friend on the free period" Betty said turning here gaze from Jughead to the lounge. "Do you want to meet my friends?" Betty said. Jughead nodded and walked in. "Hey guys this is the new kid" Betty said look at everyone sitting on the couch. "Jug this is Archie, this is Archie's girlfriend Veronica, Cheryl, and this is Cheryl's girlfriend Tony Kevin should be here soon" Betty said pointing at each and everyone of them. "Everyone this is new kid" Betty said looking at Jug.
"What's your real name new kid" a football boy named Reginald Mantle but goes by Reggie. "It's Jughead" Jug said looking at the ground again. Reggie broke out in laughter. "Stuff it Reggie" Betty said in a shaking voice. "Oh so is this your boyfriend" Reggie taunted. "N...no" Betty trembled. "Does he get to hit you now" Reggie laughed. Betty stormed out with her eyes full of tears and her fist clenched.
"Betts wait" Jug said running out. "What was that Reginald" Cheryl said before running out with the rest of the group. "If I was Betty where would I be?" Veronica said to the rest of the group in the hall. "Blue and gold obviously she always talks about that being her spot" Archie said. They all looked at each other and ran off to the blue and gold.
"I need a brake before I start the tour again" Betty said with a flood of tears running down her face. "Hey its ok take all the time that you need" Jughead said opening his arms for a hug. Betty flew into his arms crying on his shoulder. The group peered through the window and was staring at them. "Oh hell no she can't be with him he's a serpent!" Veronica pushed the door and Betty jumped out of her skin.
"Oh hey guys sorry I ran off like that" Betty said wiping her tears away. Cheryl grabbed her from Jug and hugged Betty tight. "Don't even think about Betty in anyway got it?!" Veronica shouted. "Got it" Jug said and walked out. "You ok Betty" Archie said as Cheryl let go of Betty. "Yeah I'm fine I think I'm just going to go home" Betty said throwing on one of Betty Coopers fake smiles. "Ok girl me, Cheryl, and Tiny will have a girls day tomorrow but for now go get some rest" Veronica said. "Bye for now" Betty said and left the blue and gold. She started to search the halls for Jug then she realized the only place he knew was the student lounge.
Betty walked through the doors and saw Jug on his computer. "Hey Jug can I sit" Betty said walking over to the spot next to jug. Jughead nodded and Betty sat next to Jughead. "Do you want to go to Pops" Betty said keeping her head down on the ground. "You mean right now as in skip school?" Jug asked. "Yeah but I understand if you don't-" Betty said before getting interrupted. "I am so down" Jug said with a smile growing. "Ok but be quiet Jug" Betty said looking around the halls for her friends and waved Jug out to the halls. She threw open the doors and ran out with Jug.
Betty and Jug got there with no problems along the way. "Hey kids aren't you supposed to be at school?" Pop asked. "Yes but that's beside the point" Betty said sitting down in her usually booth. Jug sat at the other side. "What do you guys want" Pop said. "My usual" Betty said. "I will take a burger and a chocolate milkshake". "Ok coming right up" Pop said walking to the kitchen.
(Back at Riverdale high) "Do you guys want to go to pop's"Veronica said. "Sure I don't mind skipping the last hour we have" Archie said. Cheryl and Tony nodded in agreement and they left the school. When they got to pop's their faces dropped as they got through the door. "I thought she said she was going to bed" Cheryl said. They started to walk over and stopped half way to look at what was happening. Betty was the happiest she has been in a while. "I would feel bad if I ruined her phone let's just go somewhere else" Cheryl said watching Betty and Jug laugh. "Just for now girl but later I'm definitely giving her a talk" Veronica said. They left pop without Betty or Jug noticing them.
"Do you want to go back to my place and watch a movie I promise I won't be anything else I was thinking maybe a IT" Jug said. "If you're sure it won't be anything else I would love to watch IT with you" Betty said. "Ok come on then" Jug said placing money down on the table.
