"beware of zemora black."

the blonde slytherin now clad in her house's robes resided within the sea of slytherins. despite their feud, draco malfoy didn't question his seat beside his cousin during the feast. his once slick-back hair was now loosely framing his features, and with just a glimpse, zemora was able to recognize his attempts to differ from his father.

zemora assumed the relentless whispers of her family name, as well as the words of warning of being remotely close to the girl doomed to meddle in the dark arts, was the reason draco seemed to follow in toe. every conversation was covered in fear for the prisoner of azkaban, and any time sirius black was mentioned aloud, zemora's name would soon follow.

"how was she even allowed here? i mean, look at her family. nothing but deatheaters and murderers." the hushed whispers of a hufflepuff student easily caught zemora's undivided attention. "it's only inevitable for her too to practice the dark arts. she'll kill us all."

a humorless laugh tumbled from zemora's lips, one loud enough for surrounding students to fall silent. zemora's gaze flickered towards the gryffindor table, the golden trio already staring towards the girl with obvious confusion etched upon their features. george and fred weasley has quirked eyebrows, almost as if they were anticipating what was to happen next.

zemora black stood to her feet with a teasing smile upon her lips. the act forced more to find themselves studying the slytherin girl rather than their own conversations. zemora had quickly grown accustomed to the stares she'd receive since her very first day at hogwarts.

"you're a bloody coward." zemora's hands were slamming against the table, rattling the empty glasses and bare plates loudly. the slytherin's eyes scanned the hufflepuff section, meeting the eye of every member before returning to meet the unknown hufflepuff girl's gaze. "so much fear."

"we were— it was just a joke." the second-year stuttered out, glancing to her side in search for some form of help from her fellow peers.

cedric driggory was leaned forwards, his forearms resting upon the table with a grin tugging at his lips. zemora hadn't caught his eye, must less remembered the boy being a hufflepuff due to the time between now and their last interaction her first year.

"so much to say about my family, about me." zemora's words fell tauntingly low, her facial expression contorted with a sense of anger. "if you know of my family, you should be well aware— you don't want me as an enemy."

"mora, enough." draco's hand came to grasp zemora's shoulder, his gaze flickering around the great hall. and within seconds, noticed every eye was upon his cousin, including those of the professors. "come on."
