This story isn't really about the cartoon itself, but more about the people behind it. If you already know the show, feel free to read this or continue on with the story :)
I'm writing this story in a way so that its not a prerequisite to know what Regular Show is, but here's a little bit of basic info and a preview of my story. The cartoon is more like something you would see on adult swim, so don't think that it's some baby show.
Daughter of Regular Show:
Jenna Conwin is the daughter of J.G. Quintel, the creator of Regular Show. The 14 year old lives with her single mother who tries to keep her daughter from being associated with her father or his cartoon in anyway. Jenna knows she is his daughter and is a loyal, hardcore fan of the cartoon, but keeps this from her mother. No one else knows who her father is. This story is about her finding her father and the adventures brought forth during the journey.
Regular Show Overview:
Regular Show is a cartoon on Cartoon Network about a six-foot tall blue bird named Mordecai and his friend, a short raccoon, named Rigby. The two are 23 year olds working at a park for their boss Benson, and are constantly getting in trouble for slacking off. Although they hate being yelled at by their boss, they try hard to keep their jobs. They often end up with crazy scenarios endings like being challenged by a giant floating head for beating his high-score on an arcade game. There are A LOT of 80's references like songs, video games, and even what they talk about.
Mordecai is a six-foot tall scrub jay that attended art school for college. He is smart and better rounded than his friend. He knows when enough is enough and likes helping other. Voiced by J.G. Quintel
Rigby is an annoying, yet lovable, raccoon. He is a college drop out and isn't the smartest around. He is a loyal best friend to Mordecai and often the reason they get into trouble. Voiced by William Salyers
They live in the park house with Pops, the son of the owner of the park. They have some friends named Benson, Pops, Muscle Man, High Five Ghost, Skips, Thomas, Margaret, and Eileen.
Pops is a giant lollipop with a small top hat and mustache. His father owns the park, but occasionally he takes charge of everyone. He is very sweet and friendly, but in a way loopy and almost special. He basically owns the park, and spends his days working and chasing butterflies. Voiced by Sam Marin.
Muscle Man is this fat, obnoxious green human guy who's best friend is High Five Ghost (or Fives, HFG, etc) who is a small floating ghost with a hand sticking out of his head for high-fiving. They both work for Benson and are also known for getting in to trouble. Muscle Man voiced by Sam Marin, High Five Ghost voiced by J.G Quintel.
Skips is a yeti that does a great job on his work. He's older, more mature and always knows what's wrong and how to fix it. His name is Skips because he never walks, only skips. Voiced by Mark Hamill.
Benson is the gumball machine manager. He has some major anger issues and is constantly yelling at Mordecai and Rigby to get back to work and threatening to fire them. Voiced by Sam Marin.
Margaret is a red bird who is sort of in a relationship with Mordecai. Eileen, a squirrel, is Margaret's best friend and in a way Rigby's girlfriend. Margaret and Eileen both like Mordecai and Rigby, and they like them back. Margaret voiced by Janie Haddad Tompkins, Eileen voiced by Minty Lewis.
Thomas is the new guy working at the park (in the newest episodes). He's a goat, and is using the internship at the park for college credit. He's very normal and not always included in the excitement of the park. Voiced by Roger Craig Smith.
The show is very random and spontaneous, which is one of the reasons why I love it. It's very funny and full of subliminal inappropriate jokes. ("You stick twittlers." "Eww, don't say it like that." In reference to stick hockey.) Give it a shot at watching. Or don't.
