I recall a lifetime of laughing,
Summers filled with sand and the juice from watermelons running down my chin,
I sit in my room,
The curtains drawn,
As the shadows slowly creep in,
I continue to remember play dates with friends,
Do you remember when those began to end and became hangouts instead?
As we all slowly grew up,
Never knowing that while we were wishing to be older with our "I'm 5 and a half's"
That soon we'd be longing for nothing more then the past,
As I make a new incision ......
I'm reminiscing of the times when we would jump in pools without ever stopping to wonder if we starved ourselves enough for our bathing suit,
When the sight of a candy would send us into shrieking joy,
As I make a new incision ......
I sit here analyzing the memories of not wanting to sleep on Christmas Eve, for fear of missing Santa clause,
Where now sleep is all we yearn for,
.....it seems iv'e run out of room.....
With each new incision I grow more tired, filling up what little room I had in my head with daggers sent to kill....
As I make a new incision......I'm left with a reminder of when we were going to be great.....-Pluto
