Waffles And Questions

Emile woke up early that morning, due to Logan being curled around him like a cat. His close proximity made the pink-eyed boy blush, and he paused to press a quick kiss on the others forehead before carefully getting up. He hummed softly to himself as he grabbed some clothes to get changed. A couple minutes and some changings of garments later, he was dressed in some yellow sweatpants and a Steven Universe t-shirt. Now he was ready to make his famous Pop Rocks waffles. Nothing like a sugar-filled breakfast to really put a pep in your step!

Emile quickly grabbed the waffle mix and poured some into a bowl, adding some eggs and milk with a practiced hand. The final touch was a bag of pop rocks or some other small candies that were mixed into the batter. He quickly cooked up the batch, as well as some regular ones, and went to wake his love up.

Logan was still fast asleep, somehow managing to migrate to the other end of the bed while asleep. He clutched a pillow and Emile almost squealed at the soft looking boy. He lowered his voice and gently shook the unconscious angel awake. “Hey, Lo. It’s time to wake up~ Breakfast is ready~”

Logan yawned and sleepily let go of the pillow as he got up. He groped around the blankets surrounding him with one hand, while the other rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. Emile set his glasses on his face.

“There you go! Did ya sleep well?” he asked with a smile. Logan nodded slowly, adjusting his spectacles as he mumbled out a greeting. He was still half-asleep when he suddenly found himself getting dragged into the kitchen and sat down at a table.

“Let me finish getting the condiments, everything will be ready in a jiffy!” Emile said in his usual smiley tone. Logan nodded silently and took a look around the room as he waited. He noticed several things that made his brow furrow. First of all, there were heavy locks on all the windows and doors, and a couple of the drawers too. Secondly, there were metal loops on some of the walls and the middle of the table, where chains could be attached to. Thirdly, when he looked out the window, there was nothing but thick forest. He hadn’t realized Emile’s house was this remote. That wasn’t very practical, especially since the high school was far away and it would take authorities hours to come out there in case of an emergency. Logan wasn’t even sure if there was cell service at the house. His thoughts were interrupted when a grinning Emile set down a steaming plate of his waffles. Blinking, Logan inspected the food, the little hard candies  shining in the morning light. He bit his lip at the thought of all the calories. Normally, he didn't care much about them, but Emile had complemented Virgil on how skinny and thin they are, and now Logan couldn't help but feel like he was disappointing people.

"Do you not want them? I can make something else for you!" Emile said, panicking at Logan's hard stare at the food. The boy in question looked up and shook his head. He could hear the anxious tone in Emile's voice and felt a pang in his heart, scared he had upset him.

"No, n-not at all!” He said, forcing a smile onto his face. His research showed a reassuring smile made people feel better. “I-I was just lost in thought. I apologize for worrying you.” Emile internally let out a sigh of relief, but he showed no change in expression. He had been genuinely panicked before, but now this was an opportunity to receive more affection.

“W-well, I think that was a bit mean of you. Leading me to a conclusion that wasn’t true at all, and not doing anything to remedy it.” He said, looking off to the side. He suppressed the smirk on his face when he saw Logan had fallen for it hook, line, and sinker. The poor boy looked apologetic and panicked: a pretty good look for him, if he was being honest.

“I’m so sorry, Emi. What should I do to make it up to you?” Logan asked quickly. The boy in question paused, thinking about what he could force Logan to do. Humming, Emile walked over and hugged Logan, whispering in his ear,

"You could be my boyfriend. I've liked you ever since I met you."
