Best Enemies

Chapter 1

I slowly lifted the thirty-five kg dumbbell from my room floor.
"You can do it Aella, it's just thirty-five kg" I muttered to myself.
I needed complete silence as I used all the strength in me to lift the dumbbell with just my right hand, but then...
"Aaaah!" I heard about five girls scream from the room next door.
I was shocked. The dumbbell would have fallen on my feet and crushed my toes as I dropped it if I hadn't moved immediately.
I fumed and I walked into my closet. I grabbed a crowbar and walked back out.
"Okay, I'm just gonna walk over there and kill everybody" I said to myself
I walked out of my room and into the hallway of the girls' dorm at Harry Carter's Academy.
I barged into the next room and four girls were sitting on one bed with phones in their hands.
"Do you all wanna die today?!" I yelled
They all turned to me and stared at me like I was stupid. Then I actually felt stupid
"Uh...no" Cece replied
Cece was one of the girls who actually owned the room. They were two; her and Renee who was also sitting on the bed.
"Then why the fuck are you yelling?" I asked
"The new guy" Renee replied "he just posted a pic" she added
"He has been here for a week now, shouldn't you have forgotten about him, you know, like you always do?" I asked
"It was a shirtless picture" Trish replied
"Yeah so?" I asked
"He's hot" Cece replied
"Who the hell cares?!" I yelled rolling my eyes "Y'all better keep it down" I said.
I turned my back and I walked back into the hallway and then back into my room.
I bent down to pick up the dumbbell again but my door flung open and Alyssa walked in.
"What the fuck are you doing here? I have told you so many times not to walk into my room." I said immediately
"It's time for basketball practice" she said
"Yeah okay, whatever, get out, I'll be there" I replied
She walked out and I changed into my Jersey.
Basketball is the one thing I love so much. Well, that and ripping my enemies apart. Plus, the female basketball team was playing against another school's female basketball team because the best player in the school was a girl. Moi.
I walked out of my room , out of the girls' dorm and into the school's indoor basketball court.
Both the male and the female teams were seated while the coach was on the court addressing them with a guy by his side
"Sup coach, I'm pumped for practice" I said approaching him
"Oh hey Aella, take your seat" he replied
"Why?" I asked "I'm playing" I told him
"Right" he began "I forgot to tell you, its no longer a female match" he said
"Why?!" I yelled "I'm the best player and I'm a girl. We should represent the school" I told him
"Actually, you're no longer the best player" he said "Chris is" he added
"What?!" "Who the hell is Chris and why the hell is he stealing my spot?!" I asked
"This is Chris" Coach said pointing to the guy beside him "you might not know him. He's a new student"
' Oh I know him. I've seen him severally on Cece's wall' I thought
The guy just smirked at me and this annoyed me the more
"This makes no sense , he came a week ago and suddenly he is our best player?!" "It took me about two months to achieve that" I said
"Which proves that he's better. Plus he jumps really high and his reflexes are really fast" the coach told me "take your seat Aella" he added
I frowned and I walked towards a seat in a corner and I just stared at the new guy
'He's taking the one thing I love away from me' I thought 'he's gonna pay'
I just sat in a corner watching. I had never done that. Ever.
They played for a while. He wasn't even that good. Okay maybe a little. But not as good as I was .
I looked away and just then, the ball landed in my laps. It was him. I got so mad. I just grabbed the ball and with force, I threw it at his face.
It hit him really hard and he took three steps backwards holding his face.
"How fast are your reflexes now!?" I yelled
His teammates gathered around him and tried to figure out if he was okay.
"Is he okay?" The coach asked them.
"Yeah he's just a little dazed right now" one of the teammates replied.
Then the coach turned to me, anger written all over his face.
"Aella! Principal's office! Now!" He yelled.
"Fine!" I yelled back
I walked out of the place and into the compound. Students were everywhere.
I was so angry so I walked hastily with my face down till I hit someone.
"Are you blind?" I asked as I looked up to the guy.
"I'm so...." He was saying
Then my eyes caught what was in his hands and an idea hit me.
"Hey what's that in your hands?" I asked
"A cup of chai latte" he replied
I took it from him and took a sip of it.
"Its mine " I told him
"What?, no, I just bought it from..." He was saying .
Then I stared at him with my intimidating eyes .
"Its mine" I told him again
"Its yours " he said
"Now walk away " I told him
He turned his back and walked away . So did I.
I soon got to the class block and I walked into the Principal's office.
"Heyyy Charlie" I greeted him with a huge smile
"What do you want?" He asked without looking up to me
Principal Charles Hunter. Best bud.
"Look what I got you" I said
I walked up to his desk and sat opposite him, handing him the cup I was holding.
"Chai latte" I began "for you" I added
He took it from me and took a sip of it
"Wow thanks" he said "I love it" he added
"See, who knows you more than I do?" I asked him
"No one" he smiled and dropped the cup "now what did you do?" He asked "Cuz you only give me gifts when you have done something wrong" he added
"It wasn't even my fault this time" I began.
"It has never been" he said sarcastically
"Seriously" I said
"Hmm" he raised an eyebrow "so who did you put in the hospital this time?" He asked
"Really?!" I asked him "all I did was throw a basketball at his face" I said
"And why?" He asked
"He was trying to steal my spot on the basketball court" I replied
"Okay three days of detention" he told me
"Come on, we are buds, plus, this is a boarding school, I don't get why there's detention. The school is detention on its own" I said
"Fine one day" he said
"Are you really gonna give me detention" I asked
"Okay I won't." He replied "if you apologize to the boy" he added
"You are only saying that cuz you know I can't do it" I told him.
"True" he replied
"Come on, just let me go" I begged
"I'm willing to" he said "if you promise to apologize to him" he added
"Fine, I will" I surrendered
" Good " he said "you know, it won't kill you to be nice sometimes" he added
"It might" I told him
"Hugh just go and apologize him" he said.
"Okay" I said "Charlie" I added
"Its principal Hunter" he said
"Yeah, but not between us" I smiled

I got into trouble a lot so I was sent to the Principal's office a lot. He got fed up of yelling at me all the time so we became best buds.
