Staring out the window, Lola was entranced by the beauty of the vast sky and fluffy clouds. Sitting on her chair, her desk was scattered with a notebook filled with messily written notes, an organized pencil bag, a purple mechanical pencil, and a dirty eraser. Staring at the endless sky, a strong breeze swayed her long hair. A blank expression remained on her face, her chocolate eyes empty. Everything around Lola grew quiet; whispers among her classmates and her teacher lecturing, muffled.
"How have you've been, Little Fawn?" asked Lola's counterpart. "I've been doing fine." "Oh?" Lola's counterpart smiled as she grabbed a chair out of nowhere and sat in front of Lola's desk. Lola continued to stare off where the window once was. Inside of a gray room, the white floor seemed like it was forming ripples even though there was no rain. The room was endless and silent. "Are you sure about that, Little Fawn?" Lola silently nodded. Lola's counterpart frowned and placed her hands on Lola's cheeks. Forcing Lola to face her, she asked, "Why're you lying?" "I'm simply telling the truth." Lola's counterpart quickly grew irritated, her eyebrows scrunched together. Raising her hand, she slapped Lola. The ripples resonated with the slap, echoing. "No wonder why you've always been alone." Lola didn't reply nor did she flinch when her counterpart had slapped her, a red hand stain remaining on her cheek. Lola's counterpart stood up and left, turning around with a grin. The gray room was then consumed by darkness.
"Lola...?" Lola blinked and turned to the person next to her. "Something in your head?" the girl asked. Lola flinched, snapping out of daydreaming. Turning to the girl, she replied, "I'm fine..."
"Belle, no talking." the teacher said. "Sorry! Ahahaha...!" Belle said as she laughed it off. The teacher stared at Belle with suspicion before continuing to lecture her class. Belle's chuckle died down as she went back to concentrating on the teacher. While listening, she wrote on a piece of paper and secretly slid it to Lola. Lola blinked before grabbing it and reading it. "You can always come to talk to me about it, alright? We're friends." After reading, Lola folded the paper neatly and placed it in her notebook. Belle glanced from the corner of her eye and smiled, glad to be of help to Lola. She thought.
The bell loudly rang. Everyone immediately began packing up their stuff and a few stood up. "The bell doesn't dismiss you. I do." the teacher said. Some students groaned as the teachers gazed at them. The teacher cleared her throat as she then put on a smile and waved, "Class dismissed." Everyone immediately ran out, pushing each other out of the way. Lola slowly packed her stuff into her backpack and walked out. "Wait up, Lola!!" Belle shouted. Lola ignored Belle as she sped up. Belle wasn't a friend or someone she would consider close but she never liked people.
Lola continued speed walking before stopping after a few minutes. Unable to hear Belle anymore, resumed walking at a normal pace, already leaving from the front entrance. Heading to the streets, she began daydreaming once more. Without stopping, she continued walking. Students behind her immediately took out their phones and faced it towards Lola. They had smiles on their faces as they watched her go.
Lola found herself lying on the ground. She couldn't move, tired. Her vision was blurry, unable to focus as she only saw the blue sky. "What... happened?" Lola's counterpart squatted down as she hung over Lola's body. "Hello, Little Fawn." Lola stared at her counterpart quietly. Lola's counterpart grinned. "Would you look at yourself. Just like deers, you ended yourself just like them."
Lola turned to the left side and saw a reflection of herself. Crimson liquid seeping from her head, her eyes close and mouth gaped. Her body was twisted quite a bit and in the middle of the road. A large truck in front of her, the driver ashamed. Ambulances surrounding her, sirens coloring the colorless scene. Police cars, keeping the students away. Students from afar looking at their phone, capturing the incident with wide grins. Pointing at their screens, their grins stretched to their ears.
White petals flew down, landing on ripples. Some, dancing around Lola and her counterpart. Lola's counterpart caught a petal in her hand, staring at it. "Forgotten, you'll be."
