Charles grabbed my hands and slowly forced my head to meet in the eyes. In my life, I have never Charles get angry or upset at anyone. Charles has always worn his heart on his sleeve.
"Izzy, why do you put up with this? You must tell father," He said, wiping away the tears.
"I...have....tried...Lady Dimont....has always...made it...seem like...I was lying." I said through tears. "Just...look....at...what...she did, "I said, looking at my crumpled and tear-stained dress.
Charles looked at me with sad eyes. "I wish I could take this all away from you. I wish you could live a normal and happy life. Sadly, I can't do that, but you are the strongest person I have met. Please don't' ever think that you are nothing." Pulling me to my feet.
I could feel Charles wrap his body around me to show that I am loved. "Charlies, what am I supposed to do, I have to be a ruler, but no one follows my orders or wishes," I said, allowing myself to relax.
"You just be yourself. Eventually, people will become the ruler that you are. Now come you sit here, I will be back with mother and father. We have news we have to discuss.
As Charles left me, I wanted to write something quickly in my diary.
Dear Diary,
There is something I thought I never had to discuss before, but I wanted to express my true feeling of the abuses that I receive from Lady Dimont. You would think growing up in a palace where people must respect you since you are the heir of the King is not what I have pictured either. All my life, servants and handmaidens have ignored me, treated me with some respect, or just did not bother to help me. It has been hard to work up the courage to speak to my parents about these issues in my life. It is not that they did not care what was going on; it was difficult to prove but to keep their staff happy, they usually use their child as a pawn to gain more status. That is why it is difficult for me to get rid of Lady Dimont. Her father has a very high status, and working as a lady-in-waiting for me will grant her a chance for a husband of my choosing.
I just don't know what to do anymore, my parents are the country's rulers, and they can not stop this abuse. I need to find a way out of this "royal life" because it seems that I am trapped, and I can not escape the people who are supposed to respect and treat me well.
I heard a knock at the door, and I quickly closed my diary as I will continue after the meeting with my parents.
