Fearless Dominic

Chapter six

I sit in the Servents table, swinging my legs back and forth. "So, how was the dance, Valerie?" Anne asks while pulling in a bucket and mop.

"Great! A danced with this man, he was so handsome, and sweet, yet rude and argent! And I've seen him before, he was so amazing!" I let out a little giggle and fall back to the table, staring up at the yellow light. "But he's a Vampire."

"Well, if I can tell you one thing, it's that men are a wast a time! Your better off without them. They'll just drag you down and keep your from touching the stars. Also -"

"Excuse me, Servant." a dark voice hisses from the door way.

We turn and see a man standing there. He has black hair and pale skin. He's wearing a white, puffy shirt and black dress pants.

"Tell me, who is this new girl?" he looks me up and down, making me feel very self conscious.

"She-"

"Can introduce herself." I jump off the table and walk over to him, sticking my hand out, "The names Valerie. Valerie... I don't know my last name!"

He leaves my hand in the air and glares at me, "How dare you speak to a member of the royal family like that, when you are just a servant."

"I beg your pardon," I put my hands on my hips, "But I am not a servant."

"Then who are you?"

"Didn't I just say?" I turn to Anne, asking her that. She stifles a laugh, "I am Valerie."

"And I don't care about your stupid name, I care what your position in my fathers castle is." he snaps.

"How dare you insult me, no one has the right to insult another until they are are close enough to know what to insult about. And to answer your question, I'll use another question, who are you?" I feel satisfied with my come back and lean against the wall.

"Prince Dominic, and I am not impressed with you, servant girl." his eyes have a crazy-mad look.

"Oh, well, I really must be going or Sofia will be wondering where I am. As you were!" I brush past him, ignoring the warmth that filled my arm as it brushed up against his. I skip down the hall, singing to myself.

I pass a beautiful picture on my way. It's an old tire swing, rust is painted on the old chain that's clinging to a Swiss Pine tree branch. A girl sits on the swing wearing a summery red and yellow, flower dress. No doubt she's Sofia. A boy sits beside her. He has light blonde hair and is wearing blue overalls. I can't help but notice that this Sofia has dark green eyes. In the corner of the painting is a signature, SD and BR.

"Sofia knows you, servant."

I ignore him and go up a set of stairs.

"Answer me servant."

"Not until you address me by my name!" I laugh, opening Sofia's bedroom door. She's not in here, darn.

"I'll address you how I want." he snaps.

I shrug and continue walking away.

He sighs, "How does Sofia know you, Servant Valerie." I turn and see him smiling.

"I'm not a servant."

We stare into each others eyes, mine burn with hatred and anger, his something else completely.

"Oh, there you are Dominic!" Sofia runs down the hall.

He doesn't take his eyes off me.

"Dominic." she snaps her fingers, startling him.

"What?"

"Idiot." I mutter.

"I see you've met..." her eyes widen. I give her a questioning look, and she returns by pointing to her eyes. What?

"Yes, what is her position. She's human, but apparently not servant." oh right, they are all vampires.

"She's a servant, Anne's assistant." she nods and pulls me away.

"But she told me-"

"Are you that thick skulled? I was lying!" I laugh as she closes the door.

"What are you doing?!" she whispers.

"What?"

"He's going to kill you!" she groans, sitting on the bed.

I shrug and lay down, "We'll see."

"He will! But I can't focus on that, tomorrow is Nellas birthday, so we're having another ball! I hate these things! But it's more fun when you come!" she pushes my shoulder.

"Of course I'll come!"

I giggles with excitement, maybe I'll see him again!
