Chapter 33 - Origins

Finally it's time for the Spade Kingdom arc! You guys do not know how excited I was for it to get animated- let's kick off today fun shall we?

Flashback - 8 years ago

"Take that!" Gajah dodges my fire attack with ease and throws lightning back. In a flash, I move in different directions, throwing my magic towards him.

"Y/n your attacks are too bland" he throws another load of lightning at me, this time hitting and throwing me to the ground. "You're being reckless"

"Gajah you meanie!" I pout. "You don't have to be so mean"

He lands in front of me, placing a hand on my head. Angry tears prick my eyes but he simply ruffles my hair. "Magic stage 6. You're forgetting that you're still young. You've surpassed a lot of people, and you're only 7."

"But I can never even get a hit on you!"

"I'm a spirit guardian y/n, you're a kid"

I look away from him, then grit my teeth. "One day I'm going to beat you. One day I'll be stronger"

He chuckles lightly and ruffles my hair. "I'll be waiting"

Flashback end

"To what do I owe this pleasure?" Gajah stares me dead in the eye, his face completely neutral

"So you really were alive, I figured as much"

"How long...how long did it take"

"About a week"

I sigh, cracking my neck. "That's not bad"

"You went to clover kingdom?" He points at my cloak

"Yeah...the only chance I had at survival was to leave and not turn back, so that's what I did" I place my hand over the emblem. "Honestly, it was probably the best decision I've ever made"

Memories flood my mind, when Julius found me, meeting Captain William and the rest of the squad, making memories with Mimosa, Klaus, and Yuno, it's crazy to think how far I've come in the past months.

"I'm glad you found somewhere to stay for the time being, unfortunately, you still entered this kingdom illegally, even if you just wanted to see what happened to your home."

I sigh, rubbing the back of my neck as Gajah crosses his arms. "So? What are you going to do then? Kill me?"

"No. I'm taking you to the queen. It just so happens she wants to see you."

"Huh?" I furrow my eyebrows in confusion. "What does the queen want with me"

"Not sure, but best not keep her waiting"

We start to head to the palace while thoughts race my mind about what is in store for me. What could the queen want to see me about? I mean, up until earlier I'm pretty sure everyone here thought I was dead, so what changed? Did she watch me come here, and didn't say anything till I left the house? I let out a sigh, shaking my head. She can't kill me...right? I mean, I'm a citizen in Clover Kingdom now, so if they killed me, wouldn't that be bad? Then again, the king was all for killing me himself, I'm sure he'd like it if I was killed. Finally reaching the palace, we start heading inside. The closer we get, the more my heart seems to race. Anxiety? Adrenaline? I'm not sure.

"We've arrived" Gajah speaks blankly

He steps out and I walk into the empty room, looking around but just finding water.
