“Ethan!” I hear Sophie shout as I packed up all my books. The day had gone by extremely fast. “Come on! We’re gonna be late! Your coming to my house to play games remember?!” She shouted, running around the classroom like a maniac shoving her binder, books and phone into her backpack. I myself started also shoving everything into my backpack. Sophie and I always played games together on the weekends, it was like our schedule. I followed Sophie down the stairs of our school and out the front door. We used the cross walk and I saw that a car was heading for Sophie. I yelled,” Sophie!” and pushed her out of the way, letting the car hit me instead, but it had hit both of us. I fell to the ground and saw that Sophie was just as hurt as me. I had failed to save her. Everyone came rushing towards us and Sophie’s mom dialed 911. I felt a few broken bones in my arm, some broken ribs, and I was bleeding everywhere. I saw that there was a bone sticking our where my knee was and it was bleeding intensely. I looked forward and saw Sophie, pretty much in the same condition as I was. Even if I survived this, I would probably never walk again, and be horribly scarred. I dragged myself over to Sophie and whispered, ”I’m sorry.” I was on the verge of tears by now and knew I would never survive. I felt extremely light headed just as the ambulances arrived. Darkness started to overtake my vision and I decided to accept it, not fight it. As I breathed my final breath, I said to Sophie, “Together we will die.” She nodded her head, and we both closed our eyes, for the last time.
