"They are almost here." Sarai announced upon entering my room.
My most awaited day. I stepped away from the vanity dresser and straightened my loose lavender dress embroidered with flowers. It was spring time. I made my way to our porch with fastened footsteps. Months of longing will finally end.
As I see the carriage approaching, I feel myself smile. It stopped right in front of the house. The door opened and I saw a beautiful lady.
"Mother!" I ran to hug her.
"I miss you so much!" I then hugged my father.
"Father, what took you so long?" I asked them.
"You know the usual Adellyne, research." Father said in a rather joyous tone. Then it came to me, the conversation between mother and Doctor Goustavou. I concluded that mother is ill. Therefore, I would make time for her, I decided.
"Come on in, Letizia made a rather grand breakfast." I told them.
During breakfast they told me stories of Europe. The lights of Paris, the noise of London, waters in Venice and other places I would be more than willing to go.
"I wish you could've taken me with you." I cried.
"Whenever you're ready dear." Mother said "By the way, how was the academy?"
"It was historical." I answered meaningfully.
"Well, as a matter of fact it is." Father said nodding then asked "How was Cynder?"
I felt as though a rain of uneasiness washed through me.
"We haven't talked in months father."
"But why? You two are great friends, you almost grew up with each other." Mother stated shocked by my statement.
"I have no clue mother." After a few months of silence.
"Why, I almost forgot what do you want for your birthday? It'll be in just a week now." Mother said quite excitedly she even clapped her hands.
"Maybe a simple dinner by the garden will do mother." I smiled this was the fullest meal I had for a long time.
My nose is filled with the aroma of food, stomach filled with delicious foods, my eyes relishing my parents in sight, my ears filled with wonderful stories, and my heart filled with love.
"We'll see about that simple dinner. We'll see"
After supper Father called me to the front porch.
"I have a surprise for you. A you've noticed we've been gone away from home every so often and your mother and I thought that besides Letizia, among the others, you needed company while we're away."
Father took my hand and guided me towards the carriage where a white brown spotted puppy lay sleeping by the seat.
"You finally bought me a puppy!" I was jumping in joy and thank him.
"Oh, look what you've done now. You've woke him up. What should we name him them?" Father asked as he took the puppy and handed him to me.
"I shall name him Crabbe." I stated as I cooed at his soft fur and dewy eyes.
