CHAPTER TEN

CHAPTER TEN - DATE

ISAVELL'S POV

"Hey, umm... ready?" bungad agad sa akin ni Rain nang tuluyan akong makababa sa hagdan. He seems a bit nervous? Well, me too.

I have never, in my entire life, had a date. I never even experienced being liked by anyone except Yaya. So, paano pa lalo na lalaking gusto ko ang magyaya sa akin ng date? I do have all the right to get nervous, right?

What if after this date, he'll hate me? What if he'll never talk to me again? What if I mess up pretty badly, ending with him not even wanting to talk to me?

God! Am I overthinking?

Simula pa kagabi, I kept thinking of what might happen, what I should do, and I ended up surfing the internet. Searching about dates, how it goes, where we are supposed to go, and right now, I'm thinking if he's going to take me to a restaurant, so I wore a dress. I would want to at least look presentable.

"Hey, you okay?" Mukhang nahalata niyang mas kabado ako kesa sa kanya. "You look beautiful, by the way." He smiled at me like somehow he's calming me, and it was effective. I did calm kahit papaano

"Thank you. You don't look so bad yourself." His smile grew wider from my compliment.

We walked towards his car, and like the gentleman that he is, he opened the door to the passenger seat. Curious as I am, I wanted to ask him where he was taking me, but I prefer not to.

Malay mo surprise, Vell, edi sinira mo pa, diba?

I agreed with my mind, so I kept quiet until Rain chose to break the silence.

"First time?" He glanced and smiled at me before looking at the road ahead.

"Umm... yeah... Like I told you before, I never did a lot of socializing before. So, never in my twenty-three years of existence have I ever been asked on a date," I honestly answered. There was no point in lying.

He gave me a warm smile. "Don't worry, me too."

As in‽ "You have got to be kidding me." He looked shy and somehow embarrassed. "Really? You don't have to lie about it. It's okay if you tell me that you've been on a lot of dates. 'Di mo naman ako kailangang damayan."

"I'm serious." He let out a chuckle. "I have never tried dating. Sa loob ng twenty four years na buhay ako, I... umm... I have never been in a relationship or flings. I... I've been waiting for someone, to be honest."

He... He's been waiting?

For who?

For some unknown—oh come on! Why do I even have to kid myself? I do know why! I'm jealous! I'm hurt! I'm in pain!

And here I thought there might be a chance between us.

"Anyways, we're almost there. You've mentioned that you wanted to go to an amusement park right?" I confusedly nodded, pero agad ding nawala ang pagkalito ko nang makita ko kung saan kami papunta. "Then welcome to the Tagaytay Sky Ranch."

I wanted to squeal so bad! I definitely want to get out of the car and just run towards the main entrance.

"Hey, kalma lang... Makakarating din tayo." I can't take my smile off my face. It took only seconds before we walked past the main entrance.

I can see a lot of rides! I badly want to ride all of them!

"Hey, let's go? We have all day." He offered his hand and due to pure excitement, I—not even thinking twice—took his hand and started walking towards our first ride! Nessi Coaster!

"We'll ride all of them, right?" I can't remove my smile, especially when he nodded. "Yes!"

Quickly we moved towards the line and waited for our turn. "So... too excited?" Mabilis akong tumango sa tanong niya. Natigilan naman ako nang bigla niyang iangat ang magkahawak pala naming kamay. "From now on, I'll try my hardest to make your dreams come true until my last breath." I can't help but soften. He seemed so sincere. Na para bang nangangako siya without saying the word promise.

"Thank you, Rain."

"Our day is just starting, Isavell. No need to thank me yet."

"Simula pa lang pero sobra mo na akong pinasaya."

"That's good to hear then. I'll make you the happiest whenever you're with me."

"Sanaol na lang 'no?" I suddenly heard a female voice.

"Minsan na nga lang maka-witness ng magjowang sweet, english pa."

"Hala true! 'Di ko knows kung kikiligin ako o pupunasan ko muna yung dugong tumulo mula sa ilong ko eh."

'Di ko sigurado kung kami ba yung tinutukoy nung dalawang babae sa likod namin pero 'di ko maiwasang matawa. Napansin ko rin naman natawa si Rain, looks like we have the same reason.

When it was our time to ride the coaster, we sat on the front seats. Medyo nawala na yung awkwardness na naramdaman ko nung una kong ma-realize na magkahawak pa rin ang kamay namin. 'Cause right now? I feel safe while holding his hand.

I felt the warmth and security that I never felt when I was a kid. Right now, I fully accept, I really did fall for Rain.

I just hope he'll catch me.

The day went amazingly great, fantastic, and romantic. Halos hindi naghiwalay ang mga kamay namin, from the rides to some games and also taking pictures together. It was a memorable day indeed.

First date pa lang ganito na, what more yung mga susunod?

Yun lang... May susunod pa nga ba?

Bigla naman akong nalungkot. May susunod pa nga ba?

"Hey... you okay? Napagod ka ba masyado? Do you wanna go home now?" Worriedness was obvious in his tone.

"I'm fine. Some random thought just entered my mind." I smiled at him. "Thank you for today, Rain"

"I'm still not done, Isavell. We're still gonna have our dinner." He stood up and offered his hand still with that smile. "Let's go? You wanted to try Tagaytay's Bulalo, right?" I excitedly nodded. "Then take my hand and off we go to bulaluhan." I laughed at his words before taking his hand and standing up. "Bulaluhan, here we go."

I'm hoping you'll love me, Rain, 'coz I already am in love with you.
