The Letter that rocked her world

One sunny day in London England,I was getting ready for the last day of school. The usally brushing her teeth and hair, getting changed into her plaid skirt and white button up. The door bell rings.

"i'll get it!" 

I ran down the stairs to get the mail, when i discovered that there is a letter adressed to me. She gave the other letters to her mom, y/n sat next to her mom and opened her letter.

"We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment. Term begins on 1 September. We await your owl by no later than 31 July."

 She gasped, I turned over to see My mom crying. 

"Oh, No whats wrong" I asked

" Honey i have alot of explaining to do, your not going to school today."

My mom told her everything. 

" I'm a half blood witch," she told her " My moms a witch my dads a muggle. Your dad was a pure blood. Which means both his parents were witches and wizards. I don't think you will ever have a chance to meet him. Hogwarts is one of the best Wizarding schools ever. It's an Honor your going. No one can know about this. Okay! Not a single soul. We can go to diagon alley tommorrow to get your stuff"

That was alot to take in, nonetheless I promised to not tell a single soul and swore that I wouldn't talk about it. 

The next day I woke up and got ready, ripped jean and a over-sized tee shirt. Me  and her mom went into london and walked into this bar called leaky cauldron. There was this huge man with little boy. Around the same age as me. He had these round glasses and black hair, and bright green eyes. My eye's went right to this scar, a lighting bolt.

"Hagrid!" said mom

"KATE!" said Hagrid with a hug.

"Is that?"

"Yes this is Harry and is that"

"Yes, this is Y/n"

"y/n be nice and say hi!"

"Hi, your harry i'm guessing" said Y/n

"Yup, so that makes you Y/n." Stated Harry

we laughed and shook hands, instanly I got this sharp pain in her head. So I took her hand away, and asked her mom to go. 20 minutes later I was in diagon alley and was walking around. We went to Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions, Flourish and Blotts, Eeylop's Owl Emporium, and last but not least Ollivander's. Y/n's wand is a Cedar wood with a dragon heartstring core, 11 ½" and reasonably supple flexibility. She dumped into a bunch of kids who look around the same age, never caught there names but aleast she saw some faces. When i got my owl, i named her Athena, it was fitting because Athena was a strong independent greek goddess. There was this huge family of gingers and they were really loud. The littlest girl appoligesed for her brothers. "I wish i had a big family" I  thought but would never say that out loud. Her mom never dated anyone after her dad. 

my  dad was on my  mind almost that whole time shopping. What was he like. Was he funny, mean, crazy, acted like a crackhead, mental, kind, caring. she hoped that he was funny and caring. 

Y/n  learned about the four houses. Hufflepuff, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Gryffindor. She was hoping for anything but Slytherin. Thats where all the cold hearted mean people are sorted and she was the complete opposite. She was brave, determinded and corageous. She hopes that, those are enough to get placed in Gryffindor. Hufflepuffs seem to nice, and Ravenclaws are super smart, and she wasn't as smart as some of the others placed in Ravenclaw. I mean she gets good grades at school, but b's arent what ravenclaws want. Gryffindors sound like ther ideal house.

Her mom said she was a Gryffindor and so was my dad so that helps. 

"I will be proud of any house you get" kate said calmly

But i new she didn't mean that, like come on who wants there kid to get Slytherin.

I was so excited to go to Hogwarts but at last school didn't start for a few months. I'll be waiting until September 1st, 1991

This is my firts ever HP fan fic. I'm hoping it's good bc i like it so far.
