Chris's POV

Jimmy, Chandler and I have been talking about a new video idea. We wanted to do something different, but something that involved a lot of money. "How about a shopping video? We don't do those very often. Give everyone a certain amount of time to spend the money I give them."
"I wasn't even thinking of that. The views go way up on those types of videos." Chandler scrolled through YouTube to prove his point. "Yeah, see, this one has 100 thousand more views than the other ones."
"After that video we can do something random. Like our expensive fireworks video or the tall lego towers." We nodded along with him. "Y/N can be in this one too, like we talked about, Chris."
"Ya know, he's talked about her an awful lot."
"I don't think I have been, well- as a friend." I tried to defend myself. I knew if they found out I liked her they wouldn't stop bugging me about it.

"All right, let's stop talking about Chrissy's crush and figure out when to have this new challenge."
"I'm free on Saturday." I agreed with Chandler. "Okay, we'll plan to have it on Saturday. I'll leave it up to you Chris, to let Y/N know the details." Jimmy rolled his eyes, earning a chuckle from Chandler. "Who else do we want to be in the video other than you two and Y/N?"
"I actually have some high school friends who are visiting in town. I'm sure they'd want to do it." Chandler spoke up. "Talk to them and get back to me tomorrow. Other than that, you guys are done for the day." Working for Jimmy was genuinely a once in a lifetime opportunity. When we were younger he talked about wanting to make content for people to enjoy, but I never thought it'd get to this point. I'm really happy that he's so successful and happy, and that he got what he always wanted. I get paid just for fucking around, basically. And, if I don't show up one day? I still get paid. I'm practically my own boss.

I decided to show up at Y/N's house to talk about the upcoming video. Well, that was the excuse I used. I really just wanted to see her again. I knocked on her door and started fumbling with my fingers to try to get over how nervous I was. I hope she's home. "Chris?" Her voice was weak and soft. I glanced up and noticed her cheeks stained with tears, and her red tired looking eyes. "What happened?" I stepped closer to her, lowering my voice. "My aunt passed away last night." Her voice broke my heart. "Have you gotten any sleep, darlin'?" She shook her head and I opened my arms to offer her a hug. She wrapped her arms around my torso and laid her head on my shoulder, facing away from me. Her hair lightly tickled my neck. "You gotta get some sleep." I spoke softer than I ever have. "I know. But, my mom can't afford most of the funeral expenses because my aunt's life insurance plan wasn't up to date." She let go of the hug and sat down on the couch. I had already decided I was going to help pay for that. "Darlin', you don't have to worry about that. You think Jimmy and I wouldn't help you? You're part of our group now, we care about you." I sat next to her. Her shoulders loosened up a bit. We were silent for a moment. "You know, I actually came to to tell you about a challenge Jimmy wanted to do." She looked up at me, wanting to know more. "He's going to give you money, and a certain amount of time to spend it. That's the challenge."
"You can give some of that money to your mom to help with the expenses. But, I want you to spend some of it on yourself. It'll get your mind off of everything for a while." I continued. "Thank you, Chris." Is all she could mumble before wrapping me in another hug. "He's giving everyone $60,000. And, all day to spend it."

Y/N's POV

Having Chris there with me was already a big help, but the money on top of that? I couldn't be more grateful. I want to give $30,000 to my mom, that'll be easily enough to cover the cost of the funeral, and hopefully leave a little left over for her to spend on herself. I sighed deeply and wiped my face, "I don't want to talk about this anymore." Chris wiped his face as well, which I just noticed was covered in tears. "You really do need to get some sleep." I sighed, "But, I have a lot to do today." I went through the list in my head. I have to let Remy outside to play, take him on a walk, and feed him. I planned to go to the grocery store, and Remy also has an appointment with our veterinarian in a few hours. "Darlin', I can do it for you." I shook my head, "No, you've already done so much already."
"Please? I'm more than happy to do it and you need sleep." I gave in, my body felt weak and shaky. The couch felt more and more comfortable, almost sucking me into it. Before I knew it, I was asleep. It felt like just a blink.

I licked my chapped lips and rested my sore eyes for a moment. Groaning at the dull ache pounding in my head. "You okay?" I lifted my head up. "What time is it?" He glanced down at his phone. "9."
"At night!?"
"No, in the morning." He chuckled. "I slept all day and night?" He nodded in response. "How long have you been here?" I slowly sat up and adjusted myself. "Not long." He paused, "That's a lie. The whole time."
"Oh my god, Chris. Did you not have anything to do yesterday?" He shrugged, "I had a little bit to do for Jimmy. But, I talked to him and he understood." Remy noticed I was awake, and ran over to lick my face. I smiled and let him lick me, he always knows how to cheer me up. "I took care of everything on the list you left on the table." That was already such a big weight off my shoulders. "Thank you. I can't begin to tell you how thankful I am."
"Don't thank me. Let's focus on this money that Jimmy gave me to have you spend today." He pulled multiple bundles of money out of his backpack.
