Hoppo/Jake N - truth

Your POV:
I woke up in the arms of my boyfriend of 6 months. I smiled to myself as he held me tightly. "Good morning beautiful." He mumbled burying his face into my neck. Ahh his morning voice. "Morning love." I replied moving some of his hair out of his face. "How did you sleep?" He asked facing me. "Great, what about you?" I asked. "Perfect as I had you right by me." He said making me blush. We both stayed in one another's arms for another 15 minutes before beginning to get out of bed.

Jake rolled over and got out of bed. He stretched and headed over to the dresser. I smiled. How did I get so lucky? "Ready for today?" Jake asked placing a shirt over his chest. "Ready as I'll ever be." I mumbled getting out of bed myself.

My dad is head lifeguard down at bondi beach. I'm not a lifeguard myself but I grew up around there and spent most of my time in the tower. I'm now 23 and times flown by. When I hit my 20's, dad made a rule "no dating any of the lifeguards", and I was ok with it until I met Jake. Well at first I didn't know he was a lifeguard.

*flashback*

We walked along the costal path and found a bench sitting on it. It was a sunny day. The two of us haven't been dating for long, about 3 weeks. It's gone by fast. We didn't want anyone to see us so this was the only place kinda...

I could tell Jake was nervous for some reason. "Jake what's up? You look nervous?" I asked holding his hand as I looked at him. "Y/n I want you to know that I'm a lifeguard." Jake said scratching the back of his neck. "I know." I smiled. "You do?" He questioned. I smiled. "Yep. I've seen you out there and you're obviously wearing the famous blue shirt." I explained making him laugh. "But what about your dad? What will he say?" Jake asked holding my hand. "What's life without taking a risk? You've got to break the rules sometimes. I'm not sure but he doesn't have to know." I said making Jake sigh with a smirk plastered on his face.

*end of flashback*

We planned to tell my dad as he was getting suspicious. I held Jake's hand as we walked towards my dads office. "I'm nervous." I said with a little nervous laugh. "Baby, no matter what happens I'll always love you." He said kissing the side of my head before I knocked on the door. Now or never...

Jake and I walked into dad's office still holding hands. His eyes went straight to our hands and we quickly let go of them. "What's this?" Dad said pointing between us. I opened my mouth before I got interrupted. "No. No I can't accept this!" He said. "Hoppo, I know this isn't what you want to see or hear but let me speak to you." Jake said placing my hand back in his. He squeezed it. Dad looked between us. "You made that rule for y/n but you never told us about it. When I saw her she blew my world away. I had to get to know her but when I found out about her being your daughter and that rule my heart sunk and I knew I didn't have a chance." Jake explained. My heart was being so fast.

Hoppo just stood there looking at us. "Hoppo I totally understand why you're angry but my love for your daughter y/n is out of this world. I wouldn't know what to do if she wasn't in my life. We make each other happy and I just wanted you to know how she makes me feel." Jake explained not taking his eyes off of my dad. I looked over. "Y/n I need to speak to you... alone." Dad said. I turned to Jake with a sad smile. "I'll see you back at your place." He whispered kissing my cheek. I gave him a small smile as he left the office.

Once Jake left, he turned to me. "You broke the rule. You even promised me you wouldn't?!" He exclaimed. "Sometimes you have to take the risk!" I exclaimed as he shook his head. "No y/n! I'm not having this. You need to break up with him." He said. "No. No I'm not doing that." I said as the tears fell down my cheeks as we argued.

Dad paced his office as I wiped my tears. "I just wanted you to be happy for me dad." I cried. "Look y/n, I know how happy he makes you but you broke the one rule we set. Please don't be mad at me. I want what's best for you." He said. I sighed. "If you want what's best for me then accept the fact that Jake and I are a couple." I explained. He rubbed his hands across his face. "Fine but only on one condition, if he breaks your heart or hurts you in anyway, I'll be after him." Dad smiled making me smile back. "Thank you dad." I replied hugging him tightly. "I knew you would give in." I smirked. He shook his head while smiling. "Now get out of here before I change my mind." He said sarcastically as I walked out.
