The elf and the griffon was huddled together this nigh again as many nights before.

She was sleeping peacefully under his great dark feathers that protected her from the cold wind.

Alone she wouldn't have a chance there.

His large lean tale made a sudden but silent movement from time to time to scare some large flying insects that tried to approach his sleeping protege.

The griffon grey eyes was scanning the shadows around them.

He knew enough to be anxious in this places.

He was a large and powerful creature with grey coloured body  larger and more muscular than any lion.

But still he wasn't the largest creature here and his knowledge over the centuries made him cautious every time that he chose a place in the ground to spend the night.

Spark couldn't find any cave or three suitable for the exhausted female elf which she could sleep safely.

And the forest became thicker and thicker as they continued they way searching for the hidden valley of Arda a place that he knew that would  be able to rest and heal their wounds.

His left wing was injuried and despite the fact that he could fly in need he preferred to preserve his strength for the future.

The Valena was becoming better and better every day and soon she could walk alone without the need to carry her on his back.

The poison started to abandon her body and her previous strength and agility returned to her as the one night day followed the other.

They had started to match night to avoid the detection but soon the forest became too dangerous for that.

Suddenly he heard something in the top branches of a tree not far from them.

He instantly growled and his muscles prepared to lift his heavy body in a fighting stance.

If there were pack of black headed apes his presence wouldn't be enough to scare them away.

But as far as he could see it was only one creature that moved in the thick with leaves treetops.

"Something is there but what "he thought looking with all of his senses in full alert and his large horse like ears stretching behind with anger and frustration.

He hated this moments ...
How many times he woke her up without actual threat ?

But still something wasn't right this night.
