Somewhere between Norwich and Edinburgh

Eleanor has been driving for a few hours already. She had been switching between the motorway and the country roads, using this opportunity to get to see more of her own country as much as she could.

She finally decided to make a quick stop in Leeds, she planned on grabbing something for lunch and eat in her car, not trying to waste too much time in the same place and eventually arrive to Edinburgh late. No, she could not afford getting to Edinburgh late and risk missing the interview. She had one shot and she was going to take it.

Today was a week day and the supermarkets were relatively empty, as Eleanor stepped into the store, smiled at her good luck, everything was falling into place and into alignment with her wishes.

She grabbed a pre-made sandwich and a ice tea from the local supermarket and had her meal in the car, always double checking the clock and making sure she would be there on time. She had parked next to a busy road and, as she had her lunch, she watched the moving cars and the fast walking people that would go by.

According to the GPS directions, she had time to get to Edinburgh and be able to check-in before night fall. Her little car has brought her far but there was still a long way to go and Eleanor is not used to drive long distances.

She had only been able to drive to down town Norwich, which for her meant that the absolute maximum she has ever driven was not more than 45 minutes straight. Her lack of knowledge and driving skills scared her, not because she wasn't careful, but because she wasn't experienced enough to be able to drive such a long distance in a trip that was planned last minute. Nonetheless she thanked God for being able to arrive to Leeds safely.

As she was choosing the songs for her car ride for the next couple of hours, she got a call from her friend Nicole. Eleanor pressed the green button and put her friend on speaker.

"Girl! How are you? I saw your message saying you were having lunch, I was waiting all morning for an opportunity to call you!" Nicole spoke in a cheerful tone as she handed the kids their lunches.

"Hi Nic! I'm good, I'm eating right now in the car, I drove super carefully for almost 4 hours straight, can you believe it?" Elle celebrated her small victory with her friend.

"That is so awesome, I was honestly kind of scared for you and I was praying all the time for you." Nicole remarked.

"Everything is going great, my GPS says I have roughly 5 more hours of driving and then I will get to Edinburgh. If I don't get the job I'm suing." Eleanor jokingly said as Nicole laughed so loud the kids behind her looked with a weird face.

"The kids miss you already, I had to be the one reading for them today and you know what they told me? That I'm a bad reader. Can you believe this? The audacity!" They both shared a laugh as they kept talking about the planned activities for the kids today.

"I have to hang up, lunch time is almost over and we will watch a movie in the afternoon, I wish you good luck for the rest of your trip." Nicole wished safe travels to Eleanor and they both hang up.

Eleanor finished her meal and prepared herself for the rest of the journey. She planned on not stopping this time, with the wish of getting to Edinburgh as fast as she could so she would have some hours to sleep and rest at the hotel before going to the interview. After checking the fuel level and placing everything in order, she went back on the road.

I'm on my way, driving at 90 down those country lanes
