PROLOGUE:
The screen brightened as the old archive computer went to life, casting the stranger's face pale blue.
He smiled.
The man didn't look remotely like any agent. Although most agents were odd and some would even say peculiar in their ways... this man was still quite different. There was a particular air to his demeanor that a casual observer would not notice. His eyes were old, cold and somewhat distant.
One could say, he was the perfect contrast of a typical rugged-looking agent.
With his fine-tailored black suit and the ornate cane he carried, the stranger exuded a degree of regalness and elegance.
He actually looked more like some lost millionaire who just, out of whim or caprice, decided to ditch the limousine and trusty chauffeur and take a stroll inside one of the most highly-secured, top secret government facility.
He was clearly not some poorly paid S.P.E.A.R. agent out to protect mankind from the myriad cryptids they don't even know about.
Seconds ticked before the stranger inserted the stolen I.D. Pass and started typing the password. Then, he clicked the closest folder and waited for it to load the files. Letters blinked on the screen to form words.
He gave another satisfied smile, baring all his teeth as he read the words on the screen.
LOADING SUCCESSFUL...
He clicked the search box and typed the woman's name, giggling at every letter he punched on the keyboard.
A logo appeared in the background of the screen, a globe pierced by a spear.
"Ah, finally..." he whispered as he leaned his back on the swivel chair and watched the words flow in the screen.
