Y/N's POV
I catch my breath before going back to fangirling. "You're from another world?" Loki asked with a smirk on his face "Don't think about manipulating me. I know all your tricks and I think that I'm stuck in your world permanently, so you can't get rid of me." I said with a smile on my face, my muscles were now hurting. "What is your purpose here?" Loki asked unamused "To meet you in person and fight alongside you. You're a role model to me." I said before Azul flew onto my shoulder. "What about your parents?" "They left me home alone because apparently their trip with my siblings to who knows where is more important. I was never the favorite anyway, but that's why I look up to you. You were casted aside like me." I said, but I didn't smile. My father would love my siblings but leave me with their mess to clean up, mom was always busy with her work and not pay attention to me but would with my siblings, and my siblings. They got whatever they wanted and I wasn't even the youngest or the oldest, their birthdays got celebrated but I never felt what was like to even have a birthday."Why do you want to help me? You're just a mortal." That hurt mister. "How am I supposed to know if I have powers or not, immortal or not, I just woke up in an alley with an egg and a thousand dollars. But with luck I have Azul with me." I said as I stroked Azul gently. Loki was hard to read with face staring into my soul. If all goes wrong I can just go to the Future Avengers, maybe I could actually have more friends. I started to feel tears run down my face "Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to do that. It's my first time making a friend like Azul." I stopped myself from making myself look like a fool. "Sorry for wasting your time. I'll leave and never talk about this conversation with a single soul." I said with my head lowered. I turned around and left him with my head low and placed my hood over my head once again. "Great. One chance to meet my idol and I blew it." I walked back onto the sidewalk and looked at Azul. "Where to next? It's not like I'm going to see Loki again." I say with sadness. Azul takes flight and flies back to where Loki was "Azul, I'm pretty sure that I messed up. Besides, why would the god of mischief want to do with a kid like me?" I said following him. Azul lands where Loki was standing and picks at something on the ground. "What is it Azul?" I ask getting closer to him. He was picking as a piece of paper on the grass; why did he leave a piece of paper here? I picked it up and looked at it, nothing on the front. Turned it over. Nothing. Why? Suddenly a white flame came from my hand and onto the paper, revealing cursive hand writing.
Dear Y/N,
If you found a way to read this, it's obviously that you have some kind of power. You were right in a way, we are alike in a way. Your crow, Azul, is a special type of bird. A guiding bird, they take a form that is most suitable to the person they are bonded to. Not many are know in what you call "our universe". Azul will lead you to where I am.
I smiled. The white flames then burned the rest of paper until it was nothing but ashes. I turned to Azul and picked him up to eye level "Take me to Loki please." I said with a joyful tone; Azul then took off, leaving me to follow him to wherever Loki may be. I started to run after him with a small chance of hope in my chest. I run out of the park and for about three blocks until I stop to catch my breathe "How far away is he? Geez!" I then continue to run or walk about seven more blocks until I got to this old building. "You gotta be kidding me." I said before walking inside with Azul following. "Hello? Is anyone here? Loki?" I said as I took off my pack and leaving it at the entrance before walking into the middle of the building. Azul cried out in fear before flying away, which left me alone to be attacked by a blast of a magic substance. I put my arms up in defense, and to my luck a shield of white flame blocked the attack. But I was pushed back a bit. "Hahahaha! I thought you knew every trick I had in the book dear girl." Loki said mockingly before firing again. The shield had disappeared and I dodge the attack but barely in time. The shock way pushes me back and gets me blown back onto the floor in pain "Argh! My back." I get up quickly and make a run for it but get blasted into a wall by Loki's attacks. I gasp for air, as the the air was knocked out of my lungs, before trying to get back up. "You're still standing? I'm impressed. No mortal would've survived my magic." Loki said before revealing himself from the shadows.
"A v-villain would n-n-never give... in defeat until there's... n-no more moves." I said, trying to grasp my words. I managed to get on both feet but was still weak, I could barely keep myself from standing still. I need to master the powers I'm given with, but I need a strategy. I wave my hand hoping something would happen; luck isn't on my side because nothing happens "Oh, come on!" I shout. Loki smirks and fires at me again, I managed to escape not without a bad scratch on my leg, leaving me limping away from Loki for the time being. "But you should know that a villain doesn't run away until defeat." Loki said; he used my words against me! How dare he! It's about time someone used his tricks against him for once. I hid in a shadows and away from the light so he couldn't see me. He stops laughing and his face goes from "I've got you" to "Now where are you?" face. I silently chuckle before trying to blast him with this new found power.
I keep trying as Loki walks around trying to find me. I aim at him and keep trying to get whatever it takes to fire at him but nothing wants to work. I can't give up either way, if this is some kind of test, then I have to pass it. No matter what it takes. I look around for what I can use, so far he managed to clear whatever would be left behind this building. There's nothing to use to my advantage, fuck! I thought that I would have to give up until I see Azul picking at a rope on ceiling. I smile with hope and follow the rope with my eyes to where it led to. Luckily, the rope was attached to a chandelier conveniently right above Loki. I'm starting to thank that I'm the protagonist now thanks to sheer plot.
I make my way over to the rope but kick a rock the also was conveniently placed. Damn you plot! Loki turns his attention towards where I am and looks up "Clever. But not clever enough." Loki walks away from the spot where the chandelier was supposed to hit him and towards me. I'm screwed. I run from my hidey spot and make my way behind some stairs. Why did I come here again?! I'm now Harry Potter! What was I thinking about coming here?! I need to think clearly, I can't just expect things to happen just now because I now have these abilities. This isn't my world anymore, this is a world where heroes and villains really exist. I need to get my head out of gutter and face Loki.
I get out from under the staircase and walk directly towards the God of Mischief. "Come to surrender? Out of ideas?" Loki said tauntingly, he smirked like he had finally won. "This battle is far from over." I say before running with whatever I had towards him. Loki looks at me surprised but goes back to smirking "Your funeral." Loki then fires his magic at me. I barely dodge his attacks but I did whatever I could to get close to him. He slashes his staff at me as he backs away from me, I don't know what this test or battle might be about. But the only thing I need to do is try to hit him, pin him, or at least immobilize him. Maybe one of those three will get me somewhere, and my best chances are the last two options.
About three hours later of me trying whatever I had I couldn't lay a scratch on him. And as for me? I had scratches and bruises all over my body. "Give up, girl. All your energy has been wasted. You no longer have any moves left on the board." Loki says with a chuckle. I look up, and just my luck; he was under the chandelier. "I'm n-not... d-d-done y-yet." I close my eyes and aim my hand at the chandelier "Please. Please work this time. Just once." I whispered to myself. I concentrated on the white flame, about proving my worth, about showing Loki I'm not some mortal. I open my eyes and the white flame burst from my hand; it hit the rope and the chandelier came crashing down onto Loki. I fall to the ground and sigh with relief. "That should do it." I said in relief and satisfaction "Do what?" Loki said, as he was now standing above me. "Oh. Come. Fucking. On!" I shout in frustration. "You have quite the determination I'll give you that." Loki said with his mischievous smile "Does this mean I failed." I asked in disappointment. "No, surprisingly. Not many mortals can stand up to me and survive." I smile and take a few deep breaths before closing my eyes. I then let rest sink in.
