FALLON JAMES AVERY DIDN'T LIKE WHEN PEOPLE BROUGHT UP HER FATHER'S PAST—NO, SCRATCH THAT—SHE ABSOLUTELY DETESTED IT. Fallon couldn't help that her Father has joined the Death Eaters in his youth, Julian Avery has done his time in Azkaban ( six years ) and had changed, reformed, why was it so hard for people to understand that? Everyone chose to judge Fallon by her last name, by her father's mistakes, by her house instead of actually trying to get to know who she was as a person. She couldn't stand the fact that some peoplecough cough Percy Weasley and most of Gryffindorseemed to regard Fallon and the other Slytherins as automatically being their parents, as if Fallon ever wanted to be anything like her mother or father.

So yeah, maybe years of being treated like she was a blood purist and vessel for pure evil energy made Fallon into who she was, and maybe she liked being known as the slacker. At least as she fell more into this role her reputation as a social pariah fell and her exterior grew harder. Maybe Fallon liked being known as the tough slytherin chick who doesn't give a fuck. Maybe Fallon just didn't understand the point in learning all the magical crap there was to know when she had her secret plans to leave the wizarding world anyway.

Fallon hadn't even known that failing to meet graduation requirements was even a thing in Hogwarts, and she didn't exactly appreciate the vocal beat down she got from McGonagall and Snape when they told her that it was either pass Transfiguration and Charms, or get held back another year. Of course there was only one person who could help her out of the fifty students in her year, and of course that student had to be one Percy Weasley, notoriously insufferable head boy and know-it-all supreme ( and although she'd hate to admit it, pretty damn cute )
