"Pick a name! Pick a name!" Your good friend (f/n) said as she shoved one of her hats in your face.
"Dude... Hurry up, I'm not getting any younger here." She sighed as she waited impatiently for you too choose a note.
"Ugh..why did I even participate in this game in the first place? Oh wait, I know, because you forced me to!" You shouted at her, she smirked at you.
"I "forced" you too because your a total antisocial, you need to get out more." She said the word forced using her fingers for air quotes.
'Damn her,' She was sadly correct.
"Well what if I enjoy being an antisocial?" You ask her with a giggle.
"What...I... Just pick a damn name!" She looked pretty upset, and you had your fun. But why had she even created this game in the first place? You looked around to your close friends, Matthew, Ludwig, Matthias, and Feliciano nervously.
(F/n) had created a game where you get people around a table, write the names of all your friends on slips of paper, and draw them from a hat. Whatever name you picked, you had to go on a date with that person. It was a stupid game really, at least in your opinion.
"(Y/n? Why aren't you taking your turn, it's your turn isn't it?" Ludwig asked you, looking slightly concerned.
"Yeah, it is her turn. Are you too scared, is that why?!" Matthias asked, smirking from across the table. He had been a good friend since 2nd grade, so he sure wasn't afraid to be forward. He looked into your eyes, waiting for an answer to his suggestion.
One thing he had known ever since he met you though, was that you hated being asked if you were scared, because you thought you shouldn't be afraid of anything, so you saw it as a challenge. That's why he had asked you in the first place.
"I am not scared!" You jumped up and grabbed a slip from the hat. It read,
~Arthur~
Of course, it was your best friend Arthur.
"Well, who is it?" (F/n) asked, leaning to try and read the note, and the name scribbled on it. She attempted to grab the note from your hands, but no success. After all, you were like 4 inches taller than she was.
"Just, give me the note." She tried again. You, however, ignored her pleading cries, laughing.
"Its Arthur. I accept. What's the matter with this anyway? He is my best friend after all." You were still ignoring her shouts of protest.
"I didn't write that one, Matthias wrote that. But he's a total jerk!!"
"If your going to make up a game. Go through with it."
(F/n) had tried to convince you for a while now that Arthur was a huge jerk and you shouldnt be his friend, but you knew who he really was.
She realized there was no point in trying to stop you now, so she reluctantly handed you a random card (they had written several) that they had written with a date and location, that is, assuming the person accepts the invitation. This was the other requirement of the game. Once you pulled a name, you received a card. They were shuffled and written randomly beforehand.
It read,
~
4:00 Saturday, June 25th.
At the cafe on 8th street, Alexandria's cafe.
~
"Cool. I'll be there." You stayed calmly as you walked out of the door, shutting it behind you. You heard her shouting behind you but you ignored that as well. You left (f/n)'s house and started to head home. It was getting dark anyway.

~Timeskip~
You walked up your porch steps and used your house key to open the door. You stepped into your house calmly, one foot at a time.
You walked into your kitchen and leaned on the counter, looking into the dining room. You had known all of your friends since you were little and had always treated them like family. You had had your share of dinners and gatherings, but usually only the six of you were attending. But that was ok. You didn't need a lot of friends, let alone want any.
You walked upstairs and into your room. As you sat on your (color) comforter, you took out the note now crumbled in your pocket and read it once more. 'Let's see, if today is the 22nd, that only means I have 2 days to ask him, and prepare the date.'
"Damn it. That doesn't buy me much time does it?" You said as you shook your head.

~the next day~
You approached Arthur's doorstep unsure of how he would react to being asked out so straightforwardly. You actually felt kind of awkward about it, you were so shy about this kind of thing. You approached the step, reaching a shaky hand up to the door. Where was all of this confidence you had yesterday, where did it all go?
You knocked.
