"The box is in the ancestral records room, Tina. So three floors down." Newt says as the three of them stop in an alley beside the entrance to the Ministry. Kai had cast a spell that changed her face for going into the Ministry while Newt downed a vial of Polyjuice.

"Is that Polyjuice?" Tina asks Newt.

"Just enough to get me inside." Newt says as the potion starts to take effect. Suddenly Newt transforms into his older brother, Theseus.

"Who?" Tina begins to ask before being interrupted.

"My brother, Theseus. He's an Auror and a hugger." Newt says before grabbing his case and heading towards the entrance.

"And someone I'd very much like to avoid." Kai says before following Newt with Tina behind her.

The three of them enter the Ministry without any attention being brought to them. As they continue to walk through, Kai notices someone staring from the balcony.

"Oh bugger." Kai mutters as Newt and Tina follow her gaze to see Theseus Scamander looking down at them. They continue walking but with more speed as Theseus chases after them.

"I don't suppose you can disapparate on Ministry premises in France, can you?" Newt asks as he groans.

"Nope." Tina says as they continue walking quickly. Newt groans again as the Polyjuice wears off.

"Pity." Newt says as Tina gasps. "I know. I know." Newt says as he stops walking. Posters appear with both Newt and Kai's faces as they both look at each other.

"Newt!" A voice shouts from behind them. Theseus is now running towards them as Newt, Tina and Kai run away from him.

"Kai!" Theseus shouts after her as she ignores him.

"That's your brother?" Tina asks as they continue running.

"So I think I may have mentioned in my letters that we both have a complicated relationship with my brother." Newt says as Kai nods.

"Both of you, stop!" Theseus shouts as they enter a mailroom.

"Does he wanna kill you?" Tina asks Newt.

"Frequently." Newt replies.

"Enough!" Theseus shouts launching a curse towards them. Before anyone could react, Kai had turned round and formed a shield, blocking the curse.

"I told you to stay away from him." Theseus says looking at Kai.

"How dare you Theseus! Was 13 years not long enough for you?" Kai shouts with her orange coloured eyes showing. She could feel her anger growing as Newt stares at Kai. He could see glowing orange veins appearing her face as she focused on the shield and Theseus.

"He needs to control his temper." Tina says conjuring a chair out of thin air, slamming Theseus into it with his hands bound before sending him into another room.

"I think that might have been the best moment of my life." Newt says excitedly as Kai lets down her shield around them. Newt quickly grabs Kai's hand, pulling her away from the scene as they continue to the records room.

"Are you alright?" Newt asks Kai as they walk towards the records room. She simply nods as she lets out a deep breath.

The three of them enter the records room to see an old woman sitting beside a desk who greets them in French.

"Yes, this is Leta Lestrange." Newt says pointing to Tina. "And I'm her Uh..." he pauses.

"My fiancé." Tina says looking directly at the old woman.

"And this is my half sister." Tina says pointing to Kai who stood behind them. She gives the old woman a small smile before she speaks in French, pointing to the entrance to the records room.

"Tina, about that fiancée business..." Newt speaks before Tina cuts him off.

"Oh sorry. I should have congratulated you." Tina says coldly.

"No Tina.." Kai speaks up but is ignored.

"Lumos." Tina says a light appear. "Lestrange." She speaks as the light zooms off to find the box.

"Tina. About Leta..." Newt says but Tina cuts him off again.

"Yes, I've just said i am happy for you. I'm sure Kai is too."

"No I don't. Please don't be happy." Newt says as Tina stops to turn around. "No, sorry. Obviously I want you to be happy but I don't want you to be happy that I'm happy, because I'm not." Newt says as Tina looks confused. Kai feels her heart sink as she looks to the floor, guiltily.

"Or engaged. It was a mistake in a stupid magazine. My brother's marrying Leta, June the 6th. I'm supposed to be best man, which is sort of mildly hilarious." Newt says.

"Does he think you're here to win her back? Are you here to win Leta back?" Tina says coldly.

"No I'm here for..." Newt says before stopping.

"So why didn't you return any of my letters?" Tina asks as she turns to Kai.

"Because I left." Kai says finally looking up. "After Grindelwald escaped, I left Newt. It's me who you should be angry with, not Newt." Kai says as her eyes full with tears. She had hurt Newt and it finally hit her. Tina looked between the two before giving them some space.

"Kai." Newt speaks softly.

"No. It was my fault. I hurt you. I ruined everything. I love you and.." Kai rambled on. Newt stared at her, thinking of what to do.

Suddenly he did the bravest thing he's ever done. He pulled Kai towards him and kissed her. Kai was shocked at first but then kissed him back. Newt pulled away first, resting his forehead on Kai's.

"I love you and will always forgive you." Newt says softly as Kai smiles. He stares into her eyes, thinking whether he should speak or not.

"You know, you're eyes really are..." he pauses thinking past to Jacob's advice.

"Are what?" Kai says lifting her head to look at him.

"I'm not supposed to say." Newt says looking to the floor. Kai looks at him and smiles.

"Newt you can tell me anything." Kai says softly as he nods. He put his hand into his pockets and pulled out a photo.

"I found this picture of you. It's interesting because your eyes..." he pauses again, taking a deep breathe. "See, in reality they have this effect in them. It's like fire in water, dark water. I've only ever seen that in..." Newt pauses again struggling to say what he wants to say.

"Salamanders." Kai whispers causing Newt to look at her, smiling. Suddenly a loud bang causes them to look away as Tina appears beside them.

"Come." She says pulling them both into the records.
