"Family Dinner" Shoto Todoroki

2nd person (you, your, etc.). Shoto is referred to as Todoroki, any other Todorokis are referred to by their first name. You're quirkless. The prompts are "there's nothing I can do anymore" and "I've been praying for you". You're in an established relationship with Daddy Issues™.

Having Todoroki as a boyfriend is like a dream. He's not too clingy or bothersome, but still decently social and hard to anger. One thing that did anger him, however, was his father. Endeavor, #2 pro hero, the man who told his son from day one that he cannot date someone without a quirk. Yet, here he is, dating you.

Your relationship is simple, seeing each other and sitting next to each other at school almost every day and having a study date every once in a while. You guys hadn't gone farther than quick hugs, hand-holding, and kisses on the cheek/hand. Things were slow and perfect.

Well...

Until he had to introduce you to his father. His father was a very... opinionated man to say the least. You've heard horror stories from Todoroki from his rants, but he's probably exaggerating, right?

Right???

You're about to walk up to the door of the Todoroki household. before he moves in front of you and stops, staring you in the eyes.

"You're nervous." Your observant boyfriend has pulled you out of your thoughts as he often does.

"Me? Nervous? I would never." You say sarcastically, giving him a look to tell him that he is indeed correct.

"If it makes you feel better, he probably won't kill you."

"Probably?!?!"

Todoroki gives a small smile, happy with your reaction. He wraps his pinky around yours as he turns around pulls the keys out for his front door. His mother, Rei, has known about you for a while but kept the secret from her husband for everyone's sake. However, Todoroki ended up telling her about you over the phone one day, not realizing his father was in the room with her. This led to Endeavor requesting (forcing) Todoroki to bring you over for a dinner, inviting his brother, Natsuo, and his sister, Fuyumi.

Although, you felt this was less of a dinner and more of a quiz, a test, a way to prove that you're good enough for his son. Oh boy.

The soft face of Rei appeared behind the door before Todoroki can even twist the key, giving you both a warm smile. "Shoto, Y/n, come in!" Her eyes flicker down to your intertwined fingers before moving to let you two in.

Walking by her you can also see she's nervous, considering she's probably going to have to be the mediator between her husband and her son. Natsuo and Fuyumi are playing Mario Kart on the floor in front of the television despite the couch being not far behind them. They probably started on the couch and then slowly slipped their way down. You laugh at the thought.

They must've heard you because they both took a glance before turning back to the TV.

"Shoto bringing over friends?" Natsuo asked.

"This is a family dinner, I think they're more than friends." Fuyumi retorted. It sounded more like a tease than what she actually thought.

"Best friends? Gal pals?" Natsuo chuckled at his own humor. Todoroki was wondering how to tell them about you, getting slightly embarrassed thinking about their reactions.

"Well..." Shoto started.

"They're dating." A deep voice came from behind you. Natsuo had fallen off the track while Fuyumi had crossed the finish line. Shoto started choking on his words, moving in front of you to face his father. Although, he was less trying to see dear ol' dad, and more trying to hide you from his gaze.
