I grabbed the remote sitting next to me and turned on the T.V. I needed to distract myself for a bit. I flipped to the news channel. The weather man was explaining how the storm was moving out of Seattle, but another storm was arriving right after. A nurse came in to check my vitals. "Looks like the snow is coming back. Hopefully I can get home to see my family before the next storm." she laughed.
"Yeah." I replied, staring at the T.V.
The nurse left and I decided the T.V. wasn't helping. I called Link to see what was up. He didn't answer. I scrolled through my twitter feed and found a nice tweet from April. Enjoying the snow with Harriet! I don't think she understands eating it is bad lol! it read.
I laughed and suddenly felt bored again. I put down my phone and sat in the cold, empty room alone. All of a sudden there was a knock on the door.
"Come in." I yelled.
"Hey Amelia."
"Meredith, oh my gosh I have been waiting here for you forever. What's the deal with Derek? Is he okay? Is he out of surgery?" I asked.
"First of all calm yourself. Second, I really don't want to talk about Derek right now. He will be out of surgery in an hour. What I came to tell you is there is someone here to see you." she replied.
"Who came to visit? I swear Meredith if it's my mother I will kill you." I laughed.
"It's not your mom Amelia." she said, opening the door to reveal Addie standing in the doorway.
"Addie?" my face lightened up snd I jumped out of bed into her arms, "Addie I missed you so much. I haven't heard from you in months."
Addison held me in her arms as I began to cry. Meredith handed me some tissues. "It's okay Amelia I'm here." she whispered, brushing the hair out of my face.
My emotions quickly changed from sad to angry. I pushed Addison off me. "Where have you been. I have tried calling you for months... Ever since I left L.A. you want no parts of me." I screamed backing away from her.
"Amelia, I have children. Children of my own and children who aren't even mine, or born yet for that matter. I also have to run a practice and I have a husband too." she replied.
"Family first Addie. I'm your sister. I needed you and you weren't there." I cried.
"Amelia I'm-"
"GET OUT ADDISON! MEREDITH GET HER OUT!" I screamed.
Meredith grabbed Addison and pushed her outside. She whispered something to her, then came back inside.
"She's your family you know. Family sometimes makes mistakes." Meredith said.
"Just shut up Meredith and tell me what's wrong with Derek."
Meredith walked over and sat on the bed next to me. She sighed. Then told me everything she heard from Bailey.
