I took to the road. My heart was pounding and my hands were sweating. What did I just do? Well I stole a car from a potential murderer who wanted to murder me. I looked at the road in front of me and realized I had no idea where I was going. I was definitely out of D.C., but I didn't know if I was going north, south, east, or west. I found a rat stop on the side of the highway and decided to stop. The sky was clear and the sun was out. I got out of the car and headed inside.
I took a quick bathroom break and headed over to the big board where a map was shown. It said I was in Virginia. I was definitely going the wrong way. I grabbed a map and looked through it to try to find the closest airport. I was not driving back to Seattle. I found the nearest Airport only a few minutes away. It was located in Norfolk. I walked back to the car only to find it wasn't there. I dropped the map and searched my pockets. Crap. I lost them. I thought of where I might have left them, then I realized when I washed my hands in the bathroom I took them out of my coat pocket so I wouldn't be looking for them when I got back in the car. I picked up my map and tried to think of something. I was definitely not hitch hiking because well that was no good. I also wasn't walking because it was very hot and humid. Then my thoughts were interrupted. By what you may ask. A bus.
I walked over to the bus happy as ever and I asked the driver if he was heading to the airport. He told me to hop on because that was their next stop. I sat in the second seat and watched the clouds as the driver pulled out of the rest stop. After about twenty minutes, he pulled in front of the airport entrance labeled "Departures." I used some cash I had on me to pay the bus driver, then I headed into the airport. I walked around looking for the American Airlines line. I found the line and waited for about fifteen minutes. When it was my turn I walked up to the lady and asked for a ticket to Seattle. She told me the next flight to Seattle was tomorrow at 7:30 am. I told her I would take it. I gave her my card and she handed me a ticket. She waved good bye as I exited the line.
I walked around the airport to pass some time. I stopped at the McDonalds and grabbed a burger. I walked around the airport some more until my legs physically couldn't anymore. I headed to my gate and sat in a chair. Another flight was boarding so it was quite crowded. I laid back in my chair and closed my eyes. I fell fast asleep.
I must have been really tired because when I woke up I wasn't in the airport. I was in the back of a van, arms and legs tied together.
