First Day At HQ

(Flare POV)

I was sitting in the living room, the little 9 year old me and 4 year old Guppy were playing on the floor. "Guppy you got this!" I say to my sister as she tried manipulating water from the cup in my hands but no avail. "Can we play dolls now?" She questions and I nod. We then grab out 'dollies' but in reality they were actually action figures. I smiled as we played but Mom and Dad walked in. "Guppy? Flare?" Mom questions and we look up. "You both are going to the Heroics headquarters today. Your mom and I have a mission." Dad says and I raise a brow as Guppy speaks up. "What's that?" She questions and Mom picks her up. "Well sweetie, it's where your Mommy and Daddy work." Mom says and Guppy and I nod.

"When are we going?" I question. "Right now actually." Mom says. We then see many cars pull up and Mom and Dad smile at us. "Wait aren't you coming?" I question. "Like we said...We have a mission." Dad says and he and Mom kiss our foreheads. "Bye you two." Mom says. "Bye." Guppy and I say as we were lead into a car and we were driven to a huge building. Once we got out many men and women in suits surrounded us and took us inside. "That's enough. Now are you Flare and Guppy?" A woman dressed professionally questioned us, Guppy and I nodded. "Yes." I say. "Wonderful, I'm Ms. Granada the head of the Heroics headquarters." Ms. Granada says and we nod. "Now if you follow me I can take you to the other children." She says and I turn to Ms. Granada. "Others?" I question and she smiles. "Why of course, the Heroics children are all here now." She says and Guppy and I nod as we follow her. We made it to a safe and she opened it revealing a classroom environment. "Excellent work children." She says and she leaves us there and once the door shuts the kids start celebrating and throwing papers everywhere. Guppy and I stood there in shock. I then walked to the back of the room and I see a kid with floppy black hair. "Hi." I say and he turns and smiles at me. "Hi." He says. "I'm Flare, what about you?" I question. "Wildcard. Do they call you Flare because of your power, or did your parents just name you Flare?" Wildcard questions. "I guess they named me Flare, and my powers being fire was just a coincidence." I say and his eyes glimmer at the mention of powers.

"You have fire powers? Awesome!" He exclaims and I giggle at his enthusiasm. "Wanna see?" I question and he nods. I then make a flame appear in my hand and his eyes widen in astonishment. "Do you have powers?" I question and he nods. "They don't call me Wildcard for nothing...Flight!" He says and his textbook shoots across the room. "I haven't been able to focus so...They show up randomly." He says and I smile. "Don't worry, I believe in you." I say but what I didn't know was that those words changed him for the better.

After a while Guppy and I were introduced to all of the kids there. Face-maker, A Capella, Slo-Mo, Noodles, Rewind, Fast Forward, Ojo, and Wildcard. We were goofing off in the classroom and we had so much fun, but when Noodles checked and heard Ms. Granada coming he told us and we ran back to our seats and sat down. "Children, your parents are back." Ms. Granada says and we grab our bags and we run out o the safe. "It was nice meeting you Wildcard, or can I call you Card?" I question and he smiles. "Only you can call me Card." he says and I smile and I see my Mom and Dad waiting for Guppy and I. "See you later Card!" I say and he smiles. "Bye Flare!" He exclaims and I walk to my Mom and Dad with Guppy at my side. "So...How was it?" Mom questions. "We made new friends!" Guppy exclaims happily and I smile. "Yeah, we did." I say looking back at Wildcard who was talking with his Dad.

(The Next Day)

Last night we talked about it and we decided, we will go there for power training. I woke up early and I went to Guppy's room. "Guppy." I say and she groans while covering into her blankets more and I giggle. "Guppy, wake up!" I say and I smile knowing what will wake her up. "Guess we won't go see our new friends." I say and Guppy shoots up and rushes to her closet, I snicker and I walk to my room and I grab a orange hoodie, black leggings and red boots. I walked downstairs and I see a note on the table.

Flare, Gupps

We had an early mission so we called in the Heroics headquarters staff and they will be there soon. Have a great day, love you.

-Mom and Dad

I smiled at the note and I see Guppy walk down the stairs with a big smile on her face. "What happened?" I question and she runs to the kitchen and grabs a glass of water and makes the water in the cup make a ring around her head and I smile. "Gupps! This is great!" I say and we hear cars pull up. "Come on Guppy." I say and I grab two water bottle for us and we went into the cars, which drove us to the headquarters.

After we went to the safe I sat next to my signature seat which was next to Wildcard. "Pick a card, Card." I say making a firey deck in my hands and before he can even grab one, his sleeve lights on fire and he freaks out. Guppy then splashes him, drenching him in water. "Card, I am so sorry." I say but I couldn't contain my laughter which rung out in the room, soon joined in by everyone else including Wildcard.

We then turned on the TV watching some cartoon which entertained Guppy for the most part. "I'm real sorry about the whole." I say as I make a sleeve catching on fire and a freaking out motions and Wildcard laughs. "It's all good, but I won't forget it." He says and I laugh. "I won't either." Face-maker says making the face Wildcard made while his sleeve was on fire. Wildcard shoves him and I giggle. Maybe being here for a while won't be too bad.
