I walked to the large manor I was now working in. The walls were filled with old paintings of people. But some of these people were gray?
"Thank you again so much for helping them," Ms.Amelia says. She was an old woman with gray hair. She owns the cleaning company that I work for. "This family is," she paused and took a breath in, " special." She smiles a little and continues, "I have been the only one to work for them. What I'm about to tell you have to keep the secret or something bad will happen."
"Like what kind of bad?" I say looking back at her.
"You will know in due time dear," her smile lines deepened around her face. She turned towards the paintings. "This family," she pauses again tilting her head down to the ground. I keep my eyes on her in curiosity. "They are vampires."
I let out a laugh, "Yes and I'm the queen of England." I look back at the gray people, could they really be vampires? No, that's ridiculous.
"Raegan, dear I'm serious." Her tone stiffened.
"Vampires aren't really Miss.Amelia-"
"You hear that Caleb? We aren't real." I turn around fast to a young woman's voice. There was a girl with long black hair standing in the doorway. A much taller man stood next to her awkwardly. "Who might you be? Did Ms.Amelia get a snack?" Her tone was cold and mocking, with a laugh to match.
"Lilly, this is the new maid," her tone had softened from the last time she spoke. She stood behind me as she backed off. Her bangs moved with her body. Just like them; she was graceful. She stood in heels and walked very slow.
"Who was here?" Another girl comes into the room. Her voice was higher and softer. A long yellow dress covered her body.
"Oh! Ms.Amelia you are right in time," she stops laying her eyes on me. "Who are you sweetheart?"
"Raegan ma'am!" I smile. The boy looked at me flustered.
"No need to be formal," she walks closer. She politely sticks out her hand for me to shake. "Inna,m Cents," I accepted the hand shake; her hand was ice cold. I looked her in the eyes that were turning white only leaving her irises. A small gasp leaves my mouth. She quickly lets go of my hand but keeps eye contact with me. "Ms.Amelia didn't tell you," she sighed a little.
"Actually she did, but she didn't believe her." The girl says.
"Oh I see now," her eyes turn back to a honey brown color. She smiles a bit and steps back. A black mist began to form around her. She rises and spins, the most begins to clear.
I started wide eyed, the once pale brown eye brown hair girl had grey skin. Her eyes were white again, "Don't worry love I won't hurt you." She backs up again, she walks like a woman from the 1700s.
"I wonder if she believes us now?" I stare wide eyes at all of them. "Ha! Look at her face! Priceless!" The black haired girl grabs her phone out and takes a picture of me.
Inna was in front of me, "That picture won't show me?" I say, I could hear the confusion in my own voice. She flips her smart phone around for me to see. She lets out another laugh.
"Be nice Lilith," the man in the door says.
Lilith turns to him, "oh shut up Caleb!"
Ms.Amelia walks up to me. "I will stay for the next three days to help Raegan, then I will leave."
"Wait what!" Lilith exclaims, "SO WE WILL BE LEFT WITH HER?!" Her tone is like a child's.
"Lilly, watch your tone. You will have to get used to Raegan, whether you like it or not." She walks out of the room through an arch behind us. "Follow me Raegan."
